New to IOA need help

For the first time we are going to venture off Disney property and visit IOA. We will only have ONE DAY there. It will be on a Thurs if that matters. (No time for US this time)

Since we only have a one day shot at things, what's the best character breakfast?

What's good for lunch/dinner? (Again, something somewhat quick since time is of the essence).

And lastly, how do we get there from Disney without a car? Taxi/Bus?

The only IOA character breakfast is at Confisco's. It is Thurs-Sun--not sure of the hours. Spiderman and Suess characters are there. GREAT character interaction! This is the one thing the Disney snobs will concede to Universal--that the characters talk and take A LOT of time with each table. So, if you are going to be there Thurs-Sun--go for it. There may be a character breakfast at one of the hotels, but not sure which days. Try calling 800 232-7827 to see if they can give you info on character breakfasts at the hotels.

For lunch/dinner, I would do Cafe 4 for pizza, Burger Digs for burgers, or Thunder Falls--it is a hidden gem! If you have time for a table service, try Mythos.

As for transport, if at all within your budget, I would go for a town car. Ask for service to the Hard Rock Hotel and you are within an easy walk (5 mins) to the parks. I think SunRay will do round trip to Universal for $60. That is the quote I got for a Universal to MK trip. If you get dropped off at HRH you will not have to worry about a parking fee, and the walk is probably shorter from there then from where a town car would drop you if you said you wanted to get dropped off at the park or City Walk.

Have a ball. Bummer that you only have one day to spend!
