New to FP+

We last went to Disney in 2013. I didn't realize I could make FP reservations 60 days out until tonight, and we leave 2 days from now. We scrambled and made a bunch today. The one thing I am super bummed about is having to make character meets part of FP. I really wanted the Mickey at Town Square Theater. What is the general standard wait for that one?

Also, we completely missed the boat on the Avatar River Journey (pun intended). What are the average waiting times for that?

There is so much to have to know to plan a trip to Disney World!! I totally feel for you. Are you staying onsite? If so, be sure to go to Animal Kingdom on the early entry day to cut your wait time for the Avatar rides. Go to Flights of Passage first, as wait times during the day are 2-3 hours. The River Journey waits can be 1-2 hours.

We had FP for FOP and rope dropped NRJ. I think the wait for NRJ at rope drop was about 20 minutes. The vast majority of people were headed for FOP. When I say rope drop, I mean we got there at about 830 for a 9 am opening--that's what rope drop USED to mean.
