I just found this site on line and we are leaving within a matter of days. We are flying direct from Halifax and staying in a condo off site (hopefully to get R&R!). 2 Ad and 2 Ch. Any last minute tips anyone has to share? Thanks,

This site is such a wealth of knowledge. Since it looks like you have been ther many times before, I am sure that you know most of the drill. Remember to look for dining coupons in the free magazines in front of stores and most importantly.... have a safe and fun time.

:cool1: Have a great trip. If you think it is likely that you will return within the next 12 months, you should look at one of you buying an AP since it includes free parking. Parking can really add up when staying off-site.

We went in August and stayed off-site and have a trip planned (again off-site) next month so I looked at the cost of AP and realized it would be an awesome value knowing that I would be returning within one year. The cost of the AP covered my park pass cost for August, parking for the week in August and parking for our week next month. So my park pass cost for next month is zero. Only one person needs to have the AP in order to get the free parking.:woohoo:

I hope you have awesome weather while you are there. Have fun.

That is a great tip, parking is expensive there when staying off site, although I struggle getting in a big trip each year, let alone twice in one year. I did get the CAA Diamond Parking Pass when I pre purchased my park tickets, so I hope that will make the pkg lot more bearable (if not less $). Here's to hoping!

Not sure how far your off-site room is, so here's a suggestion if you need a mid-day break from the parks with the kids. Use the buses/boats to a resort you'd like to visit and relax in the lobby and look around. A lot of the resorts have sunrooms/sitting rooms away from the lobby where you could unwind with the kids on a couch or comfy chairs. My sister and I love both the Wilderness Lodge or the Beach Club (depending on which one we're eating at) where we can stretch out after a big meal and just read a book or take in the atmosphere. We also love AKL as you can enjoy looking at their savannahs from a viewing area beside the pool, and they have a great gift shop there.
Also, even though we always stay on-site, the biggest money saver for us is buying water/juice and taking it into the parks with us (saves $2.00 every time we get thirsty), as well as packing some snacks to get us through until meal time.
Have a wonderful and safe trip and welcome to the DIS!!!:yay:

Looks like the weather is warming up in Florida. Have fun, take WDW at your own pace, and have a marvellous break!

Our favourite thing to do when staying off site is to spend an evening at Boardwalk either for dinner or just for dessert. We rent the big surrey bikes and stay to watch the EPCOT fireworks. There is shopping and wonerful street entertainment. No worries driving an parking at the resort - just tell security you are there to shop or dine - they welcome all!

Disney Marketplace (Downtown Disney) has become a hub of activity over the past few years and I find evening shopping is a nightmare - just too busy for me. I enjoy going first thing when it opens and spending a few hours to pick up souvenirs.

The tips were great, aside from the rain, we had a good time. Thanks. I am posting a new thread for Cdns, does anyone know if there are any discounts available for the photopass CD? It is 150.00 this year, I sure would like a discount code or coupon. Thanks.
