I've been planning on taking my oldest son (17) down for a couple of days right after classes end in early May (5/10-5/13) to tent camp. It will be just the 2 of us and we are just going to hit the water parks. I've been waiting to nail down specifics of getting things taken care of at home before booking and now it looks like all the campsites are gone.

We were looking forward to enjoying the grounds, movies at dark and not feeling like we had to max out every minute of our day to get our money's worth (like we have felt in the past going to the regular parks) since the water parks don't open until 10 and they close at 6.

What are the chances of anything opening up? The more expensive resorts are out of our reach. Any suggestions for a newbie?

TIA!

check a couple times a day- morning/lunch/evening. Chances are good. I say 50/50!!

Call, call, call and check the WWW as much as you can.

And Welcome to the camping board.

First of all....
:welcome:
And as has been said... Check back frequently. Early morning (6-7 AM eastern) and evenings too... Check the Online AND call. Even if you have "Piece" together reservations. Once you get all the dates, you can (typically) call and get them merged into one (assuming they are all of the same type). I would think, since that date is fairly close that as you get to the 30 day mark, you should see it open up quite a bit. I would say your chances are real good.

Welcome. Others have covered most of the good stuff. I would only recommend that you try weekdays only. Weekends may be booked but you may get a weekdays with no problem.

:thanks:Tried again tonight, got a full-hook up site and figured I'd better snatch it while I could.

Thanks to each one of you for your responses! I was feeling so low last night thinking the opportunity had passed but glad y'all encouraged me to try again. :flower1:
