New ticket system coming to WDW - Begins October 16th

Currently we have 4 day PH. Three tickets were going to use the value toward AP renewal. The other ticket was going to be upgraded to 6 day PH upon arrival. Should I wait and still do this at arrival or would it be better to change everybody to 6 day on the package yo lock in pricing? I don't want to pay a huge up charge on the one ticket, when I initially planned for a $30 increase.

Upgrade all to 6-day tickets now especially because you are planning to use 3 towards an AP.

I'll be curious to see if it's actually nothing, as in not one single ticket option ends up cheaper
I missed the report but our local news did a story and in the synopsis prior to airing it they mentioned that some may save money with it.
I can't imagine many will be cheaper that's for sure. And even if they are, it's not going to be drastically cheaper.
If you wanted to gamble one way or the other I'd say you'll stand to save a lot more than you'd overpay if you bought the tickets now, meaning the difference in the increases will be higher than any drops.

The only ones that I can envision being cheaper would be if you could get the pass to cover on Value days (or mostly value days with 0 peak days). Since I think the longest Value period is 5 days that would leave you with a 2 or 3 day pass. Since they will also most likely sneak in a small increase to the 1 day MK price that will probably wipe out any savings for value pass.

What does everyone think June will do, go up or be the same?

I think that's what I'm going to do, just to be safe. I don't want a $30 increase to become a $100 increase at Christmas. We know that will be peak pricing. I talked to a CM and they don't know what things will be like come 10/16. She said they will always have some sort of extended length pricing. Or at least that what she thinks.

I'm not sure what you are saying in regard to the "MK price,"
so I'll just mention that with this new system there is no longer a ticket priced especially just for MK.
A 1-day ticket (or longer) is good for use at any of the parks.

I will be going to WDW in Nov. I want to buy a Florida Resident Silver Annual Pass. Do you think the new ticketing system that takes effect Oct 16 will increase the price of the annual passes? Should I buy it now?

Even if AP prices don't go up precisely on Oct. 16, they will be going up sometime.
If you buy a new AP now, you don't have to (can't actually) activate it until sometime in the future when you make your next trip.
(If you were planning on "making payments" I don't know how that would work.)

Currently I have an Annual Pass that is good to May 7,2019. I am going the last week of January, 2019 and then for 10 days beginning on May 8, 2019. I not planning to renew the annual pass but just get an eight day hopper. If I buy an eight day hopper now, it will be with electronic delivery. Can I wait and not add it to my MDE until after my January trip?

So a slight benefit there.
Anyone know if there will there be a maximum time benefit? For example if you have just a 3 day PHP, but are staying onsite for 20 days (AND YES, that CAN happen for some DVC owners), will they let you stretch out the use of those 3 day tickets for up to 20 days??

Yes; link it in time to book FPs for May.

Yes; it’s already been posted in Disney TA info that the longer time span applies - either length of onsite stay or valid ticket time span.

Info is in Post#2.

I’ve seen this question a lot over the past day or so and this has been the answer. But I thought I had understood this was only known (thought) to be the case for a package. What if you have say a 10 day room only stay and want to go to the parks day 1, 5, and 9. Would you get the entire stay to use that 3 day ticket purchased separately, or would you have to either bunch all 3 days into 5 days together (was it 5 days to use a 3 day ticket, can’t remember for sure?) or have to buy the option to make the ticket good any time? Some of you may think this doesn’t seem likely, but when I was growing up our norm was to stay like 7-8 nights and go to the parks for 2 or 3 super long days, doing other things on the non park days (both Disney and non Disney).

In other shorter words, do you get your entire resort stay to use your tickets if they are purchased separately, and you are not booked as a package but room only?

Below is my reply earlier in this thread. Beginning October 16th, most questions will be answered and information will be added to the Ticket Sticky. Everything right now is based on what little factual info TAs have shared and most questions have been hypothetical as is this one and the previous question.

Facts that are known are posted in Post#2 or are linked in Post#2. Beyond that, everyone will have to wait until October 16th.

The same Walt Disney Travel Package wording was used for DSprings hotel guests and no one staying in DSprings Hotels needs a package for 60-day FPs and EMH.

When onsite, the FP booking window opens from check-in date through checkout date whether it’s a package or room-only.

Does anyone think the open FP window for a room-only guest will have an additional ticket constraint? IT couldn’t restrict DSprings Hotels guests’ FPs to packages; it’ll be interesting if IT can restrict room-only guests to ticket restraints when the FP windows open.

I believe there is no way they are going to penalize guests who don't book packages but stay on site.
