I thought Escape brides didn't get guest discounts on tickets?

All our guests have tickets now - and they WERE available for a discount (we're escapees too)... it was about $20 off the ticket price IF (and only if) you purchase the hopper option.

There should be a link to it on your disney wedding website...

Actually - it makes sense now...I was just thinking.

Disney raised the ticket prices on Aug 3rd and our DFTW discount was available at the same price even after the price raise date, so that's probably where the $34 comes from.

Alissa summed it up - lemme break it down

I checked out the ticket purchase page for Weddings and for regular shmoes.

It used to be that DFTW guests got a flat $20 off and it was only on tickets with the $$$ Park Hopper option. Now that WDW has raised ticket prices, they are working on a new discount for weddings in 2009, which should be available beginning in September.

However, if your wedding is between now and Dec. 31, 2008, you get this cool new deal. Even though the ticket page that your wedding guests will use still says you only get $20 off, it's actually a bigger discount because they have kept the base prices at the pre-price-hike rate.

That means you are effectively getting discounts on ALL tickets, even non-Park Hoppers, because you are paying the old prices for all tickets.

So you can either buy non-Park Hoppers at the old ticket prices, or you can buy Park Hoppers for $29-$36 less than the new prices, depending on the length of the ticket.

WOW that sounds like a really good deal!! And since the tickets aren't activated until you use them....i could buy tickets NOW for our trip next year, right?

Hmmm.. looking at the page again, it says the offer is only for arrivals thru Dec. 31, 2008. But as you say, tickets aren't activated until you use them, so why couldn't you buy them now and use them later?

... Unless these special tickets are dated or expire? I've never bought a Magic Your Way ticket, so I don't know how that works...
