We are DVC so don't need this promo, but checked for a few colleagues who are planning trips, and I can't make sense of it either.

Got good rates for Values (All Star Music/Movies) $69.00/night, and Moderates (Caribbean Beach & PO) $131-150/night for several nights in June and August.

Deluxe/DVC room rates were all over the place, and way high! I swear some are higher than rack rates from when I price checked yesterday.

The promo link at the of this page is advertising Moderates as low as $78 day and Deluxes $95. I don't see how this is possible, as I plugged in many dates, and none of those numbers came up at all.

This is what I thought, too. After rereading the offer, it's $78 per person per night based on two adults, one child and a junior, I believe.

No complaints here! I was starting to think there would be no discount, and made prep before booking to plan to pay rack rate. Now I save $700, every little bit counts.

It seems the popular resorts have very little to offer, accommodations wise. POFQ is becoming very popular, hence a lesser discount. OKW is always a hard sell, hence the higher percentage off.

As for the week before and after August 17 being excluded from both the summer room discount and free dining, remember that last year's bounceback free dining offer began on August 17, so they may have already filled the rooms during that time to their satisfaction.

I agree. The discount rates are based on existing room occupancy. POP is a hot seller, always full, why give it away.

Good catch on the per person rates. I just went back and reread it, and you are correct, as it discusses park tickets. Missed that one!

OKW is our fav resort, and as DVC members we have stayed at almost every resort on property in all categories. But, I know for cash paying guests, it's a harder sell as it's not near a park, but the location is ideal to get to pretty much all parks pretty quickly, and Downtown Disney is right there.

Well, this is what I already got for the week that they are not offering (8/12 to 8/21). This PIN was offered back in Jan.- 20% off at POR. Maybe because they offered (and we accepted) these PINS they don't need to offer anything else for that week. But, I'm still holding out for hope for a better deal at that time, but I think that this may be it, since the last time we got FD at that time, it was released at this time - and this is what they're releasing.

I was able to book CSR For 7/7-7/12 for a 20% discount! I priced all the mods and CSR had the best discounts for our dates.

I think it's great that they are still willing to do summer discounts at all, so it's not really "measly" because it's better than nothing. The days of 35% and 40% used to be for the times when they needed to fill rooms. They usually don't need to fill them in the summer, so I'm happy to see that they did this.

BUT - my vacation is August 14-22. Is this considered SO busy that they don't need to offer anything?? Free dining starts on 8/25, I don't quite understand why the two weeks between the discounts are "no discount time" between the two promos.

I'm okay because I got a AAA discount that is the same as the GP offer of 20% on the cabin, but it just doesn't make sense to me why those two weeks are excluded from any discounts.

I don't want to come up as being critical but for people to say that the days of deep discounts are gone are dreaming. The economy is not getting better any time soon, and with the price of fuel nearing 4.00 per gallon that does not help Disney either. Discounts will continue, this is the first round and I'm sure that there will be another round coming for August you just need to be patient.

This room discount ends Aug 14, and there will be the Late Summer/Fall discounts coming out next, prob with the dates After Aug 14 through Sept.

It is very odd that there aren't any AP discounts yet. Usually they are released first. But I'd keep checking. You never know.

I sure hope the late summer % is better then this one. I'm glad I have a 35% BB booked from January for AKL. Was thinking of doing a split stay with BC, but if it's not going to be higher then 25%, we won't be.

I just ending up adjusting the resort level we stay in depending on discounts offered. If it isn't a good discount, we'll stay Moderate, if they are offering good discounts, we'll stay deluxe.

I am happy to have a discount. I was a little when free dining came out at mid-August cuz I am going end of July/beginning of Aug. I thought that was probably all that would be offered. Tonight I saw the discount and just changed by ressie and saved about $500 from my AAA savings. I was excited about my AAA price, so I am excited tonight! Every little bit helps. We are staying at CR--so if I can just hold back the temptation for the discounted price of the tower theme park view, things will be good.
