New Stroller Rental Service

I just started another thread about the Orlando Stroller Rentals before coming upon this one so if you don't mind answering some questions I did not see on the Magic Stroller website I would appreciate it:

Have you had any issues closing/opening/locking the strollers?
How big is the storage space underneath/ We will have one or 2 backpacks plus jackets-will they fit underneath?

If you have rented from them were there any accessories you took with you that you found helpful?

i did not see the parent console on the site-does anyone have alink or can you describe it? THANK YOU!!

What sold me on the Baby Jogger (we have a single) is the amazing folding feature. There's a strap on the seat - you just pull up firmly and the whole stroller folds in half. It also folds pretty flat, so its easy just to carry around. There's not really a lock, but there is a mechanism that keeps it folded. It's easy to open, too.

I think it has a decent sized storage underneath. You could probably fit a backpack into eack side, but you might have to work on getting it in and out. As someone mentioned, there's also a pouch on the back of the seat that would work well for jackets or things you need easy access to.

Here's the BJ parent console...

I'm assuming this is the one the strollers come with, but I can't say for sure. It has a cup holder and 2 velcro pouches (one of which is a "mini cooler")great for things like cell phones or keys. The only other option that might be useful is the snack tray, but I don't think its necessary, and I don't like having something across the seat that I have to lift the baby up and over everytime.

Hope this helps!

I just reserved our stroller from Magic Stroller Rental today. I talked with a very friendly woman over the phone and received an email confirmation soon after that! From reading what one of the previous posters wrote, I just went back and added that I would like to get the free parent console and rain cover with our rental.

I'll update on the stroller etc. when we get back the 18th of December!

Just wondering about insurance - didn't see anything on their website. What if it's stolen while in your care at WDW?

Tiger :)

I saw on the site there is a $25 insurance option to add to your rental cost.

Right, when you enter your dates, there's a box to check to add the optional $25 "Theft Protection". I assume this means that if the stroller is lost while you have it, you are not responsible to replace it, but I wonder how a replacement stroller would be handled. :confused3

Either way, for a $400 stroller, it was worth it to me to add the extra $25 on so we wouldn't be responsible for buying a new one if it went missing. Hopefully that won't happen, but you never know!

Thanks - $25.00 is reasonable, but I hope people are really paying attention to this, as I would hate for someone to have to replace the stroller if indeed it were stolen at Disney. By the same token, it wouldn't be fair for the company to replace stolen strollers either as it wasn't in their care.

Interesting...Tiger

I think I will still use OSR
I was looking at the FAQ for dropoff and pickup times
Dropoff was between 8-11am and pickup NO later than 2pm

Would not have saved us money on our last trip. Our stroller was waiting for us at 7:30am on arrival day and we had it as late as we needed on departure day. We would have had to purchase 2 extra days to get it for the times we needed on arrival and departure days.

We used Magic Strollers last week while in Disney. We rented a double for our stay because we had additional family coming in that could use another seat. Our stroller was there when we arrived, very clean and ready to go. There were instructions that came with it and a nice carrying bag as well. The strollers were so easy to push and fold and weren't too bulky on the bus either. One night there was a hint of rain so I sent Susan an e-mail to see if they had any rain covers available and either John or Brian delivered it the next morning for us. The whole experience was great and we are absolutely going to rent from them again next trip. I can't say enough great things about Owners Locker and now their stroller company is just as great. You won't be disappointed if you try them too.

Thanks for the review! I'm so glad to hear you had a good experience...we have a double reserved for our trip.

Did you get a parent organizer with it? Was it the Baby Jogger kind that snaps onto the handle? Did you need to use the rain cover? I'm curious to know how it works, too.

Thanks again!

There was a parent organizer on it and we did not have to ask for it, comes standard. It was on the handle above the left seat, the right seat did not have the organizer. It had one drink holder and then two pouches that had velcro covers. We did easily put drinks in all three. We used the rain cover one time for about an hour. It was very easy to use and folds up pretty small considering it covers a double. I was most nervous about it being easy to fold but right where the child's rear goes there are straps that say pull here to fold, you pull there and it folds. Couldn't be easier!

does it pay to the theft insurance that they offer
do the stroller fold up & lock easily

We decided to get the insurance. I guess its the kind of thing that if you don't get it and need it, you wish you had and if you get it and don't use it, it's a $25 loss. To me, it's worth the piece of mind knowing that if the stroller "disappears", I won't be responsible for replacing it. I've read a lot of threads lately about strollers (especially nice ones) going missing. The double strollers they rent cost about $400 (singles are about $200), so that's a lot of money to replace it - I'd rather pay the $25 just in case!

The Baby Joggers are super easy to fold. We have a single, and the main reason we bought it was the ease it collapses and opens. It stays together when folded, is easy to carry, and opens up easily too. They're great strollers!

We rented a one seat City Mini from Magic Strollers last week. It was waiting for us at our hotel and in perfect condition. We loved it and would definitely recommend this stroller service to anyone interested. It sure beat the pricing and condition of all the ones in the parks. :cool1:

Has anyone used the Magic Stroller with TALL children? My girls are 6 & 4. I know they can walk all day, but I'm sure we will need one at night. My girls are 48 inches & 44inches.

Thanks

Has anyone ever had an experience with a stroller getting stolen? What do you do if you rent it from Magic stroller? Are you stuck without a stroller for the rest of the day?
