New Steampunk Pin Event at MK

Is there a way to hide posts, I have pictures of the clues and pins but I'm sure some here don't want spoilers. I thought there's a code to hide posts and then individual people can opt to see it or not

I'd also love to see them if there's a way. $80 also sounds so expensive to me when there are so many free things to do but DH loves collecting pins so we may end up doing it if they seem worthwhile!

So many mixed feelings about this. Fun, too expensive, lanyard would look GREAT with my Mechanical Kingdom pins...

I thought it sounded cool until I saw how much it would cost to complete it.

Now I'm thinking I may just get the starter pack since I think my daughter would love that lanyard.

DD would love this, but it is more expensive than things we usually do. (Comments in link from OP lists $15 for starter kit $10 each clue card and $5 completer pin if all clues solved and quest completed - rounded to even $) Are there any DVC, AP or other discounts for these purchases?

Yes you can use your discounts to purchase all the elements for the game. It's so fun! We are over halfway through (only stopped because we had a dinner reservation) and will be finishing it today. I love it! I hope they do it again at the other parks!

Personally I was almost scared off by the price but the pins are beautful and it makes for a really nice collection with the lanyard, decoder medal, pouch, pins, map, and all the trivia cards.

I'm almost done with it. Love it! It really is fun and they even make it harder to "cheat" by including decoy locations on the map so you really have to do the hunt. All in all it should take about 2 hours to complete and you'll learn a few trivia things along the way.

If I read the costs right....It's $14.95 for the first pin/ lanyard and $9.95 for each additional clue/ pin. That's $70.00 for the complete set. Crazy cost. I love pins and have MANY of them. But this is just another Disney money grab, which we are seeing a lot of these days. I think I'll opt out of this one.

I've always thought pins were cool, but I've avoided the collector addiction (I have 5 or 6 pins total.) Those pins are really cool though. I probably won't be getting to MK before the the supply runs out, so I've dodged a bullet.

With the high cost, if this was even around come February, I could see DSis and I splitting the cost and the rewarded pins. Otherwise, definitely too much for our pockets (but still looks like a load of fun!)

I just finished doing it. It was a great way to pass the time on a very crowded july 3rd.... gave us a new way to wander around mk and it fit in perfectly for us.

Yep, these are pretty much in line with the prices of standard 'rack pins.'

Actually, this is right in line with what all the pins at Disney cost. And since they're limited edition and there's a game to go along with it, this is one time I actually don't think it's outrageous. Don't know if I'd spend the money or not. They really do look cool! But it will probably be sold out by the time I get there anyway!

DH completed half of them this evening. Ran into issues with many of the locations being closed after 9 (Splash) or 10 (Frontierland) and crowds made it hard to get around after FW and during the parade so we'll have to do the other 3 next time.
