New Star Tours film being shot right now??!!

Hey, how about this for a rumor...according to Slashfilm, they are shooting Star Tours footage right now in Hollywood.

Yesterday was the third day of a secret LucasFilm film shoot in West Hollywood. If you were allowed to enter the “LODESTAR” production stage, you would’ve seen Boba Fett, Admiral Ackbar, a Tusken Raider, and even some Jawas. C3PO himself Anthony Daniels will be filming later this week.

So what is LucasFilm shooting? The good news is that George Lucas isn’t making a another Star Wars movie (not yet anyways) or additional scenes for some super duper special edition. And No, the Star Wars live-action television series has yet to begin production. So what is it? Answer after the jump.

I am all for it! I like Star Tours a lot, but wouldn't mind an update. What do you think.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is true, however until anything official is said by Disney, let's try to all remember that this is just a rumor! At least it isn't from Jim Hill...

The description of the footage and characters doesn't make sense to me for Star Tours, unless they are doing a Pod Racer simulation, and even then I'm not sure about it...

Yeah, I wouldn't bother repeating any of his speculation here...and this certainly is no more than a rumor. Just thought it was an interesting one!

PS...If they were going to redo Star Tours...would they announce it during Star Wars weekends?

I would really balk at the idea that Star Tours is going to be based off a scene in the worst movie in the whole saga. I would vote for maybe a scene around the final battle between obi-wan and anakin in revenge of the sith. But that would be hard to base a simulator ride off of. Disney still hasn't released anything about this filming, so this is probably another false rumor.

I would be dissappointed if that's all they were going to do with that ride.

The whole technology is old and out of date. The ride cars squeak and creak and groan and sound like they are going to fall apart. And a couple of the times I've been on it, it doesn't even move like it should, it just jerks from side to side and forward without any of the additional movements that make you really feel like you are there.

Now, my idea, would be to rip it completely out and do something with technology similar to Spiderman at Universal, and keep the Star Wars theme. Like a Jedi battle between good and evil. It would be amazing!

If all Disney was going to do was replace the film, I would be extremely dissapointed.

There has been talk about a whole new projection system (possibly 3D, at least more immersive), but the talks also said that they may only implement it in DL, or possibly not at all...
