GOLDEN MICKEYS SHOW TO DEBUT FALL 2003
A brand new, live stage show begins production on the Disney Magic this autumn. The new show, called "Golden Mickeys," is in rehearsal now. Our contact at Disney Cruise Line had no clue as to the new show's storyline, but some digging about on the web revealed a casting call with some hints. From what we understand, a female character named "Ensign Benson" starts the show as the nervous and awkward stagehand. During the show, famous Disney characters such as Tarzan, Pocahontas, Belle, Peter Pan, Nala, Hercules, Quasimodo, Prince Charming, Cinderella, Snow White, and Wendy show up. By the show's end, Ensign Benson transforms into the confident and glamorous star of the show, the Disney Cruise Line's "leading lady." The new show isn't expected to replace any of the current stage shows, but it's possible it will take the place of one of the variety shows. Disney is not yet sure when the show will make its way to the Disney Wonder.

Great news if it doesn't replace the other 2 shows...Disney Dreams and Hercules.

We were told of a new show that would have. amongst others not currently in Disney Dreams, characters from Toy Story (that's all I remember now! LOL). The CM, who was a performer on boards, implied that it would be a new version of Disney Dreams. I wonder if DD is being changed a bit with new segments or if it's all really part of this new show? Hmm.. a little more digging is in order!

I am hoping it will be debuting on the Oct 11 cruise! That is the first sailing out of dry dock and I'll be there.

It probably will be which is sad for me! I'll be on the Sept. 20 Magic, the last cruise before dry dock...!

Just back from the 9/18 Wonder 3 night. First night was Hercules, second night was Golden Mickeys, third night was Dreams.
The Golden Mickeys show was phenomenal!!!!!!!! I actually liked it better than Dreams. And it is just how Starwood described it. The one really cool thing they do is since it is supposed to be an awards-type show, they have a red carpet set up outside the theater, and a reporter (think Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood) interviewing people as they walk in to the show. She interviews kids (maybe adults too, although I didn't see any) and asks them things like their name, their favorite character, and comments on their outfits, just like a reporter would. They have 2 large screens inside the theater showing these interviews before the show starts, and the reporter is absolutely hysterical!!!

I definitely reccommend this show!!!!!!!

It was great. We were on the 9/18 3 Night cruise and my DD was asked to be one of the Dwarfs with Snow White on stage (both of my DDs were asked, but only one did it).

If you remember a girl in a long red gown (Belle's Christmas gown)......that was my DD! She had a great time doing that and is still talking about it.

The show is wonderful! So much fun to see some of the other characters that are not in Dreams. One of my DDs just loves Tarzan and Stitch and was THRILLED to see both in the show.
