So...how quiet does the house seem now?

Talk about growing up fast, next Wednesday, Tink starts her last year of middle school, Winnie starts High school and LizzY starts her senior year of High School! Next year I'll have 2 kids in Hs and 1 in college! I just gave birth to these children...I'm sure of it!:faint: (Of course Kat, Danielle and Jacqueline have kids who are older than dirt;) :teeth: :rotfl:

Hey, my kids aren't older than dirt; just me! Don't make me whack you with my walker!

We are debating swim team over karate type things. Need to get the kids minds focused a bit.

found out yeterday that Jeff isn't in a self contained classroom, but inclusion, with regular 5th graders. Gonna be kinda hard I bet, but he wants to try instead of being at the other school. This may be a real fun school year, indeed!
:sad2:
Good luck to Jeff, and all your family:shamrock:

Maybe 3Leafs and Disunc are the same person!

Don't forget Tot B!

Don't forget all the tax deductions waiting to come. :teeth:

I would definitely consider it:thumbsup2

Since we are talking school here i thought i would pass on the stuff that Em is getting to make school a bit easier for her. Not sure if I ever mentioned it before but she suffers from severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder as well as social anxiety This has lead to a summer of needing me by her side most of the time as she prepared her mind for the thought of going away. Last week we went and saw her :"worker" as school she will be getting

A laptop, bag & printer so she can use a program that will scan in her text books and profs notes allowing her the chance to "hear it" as the puter reads it to her -- this will help her stay focused

Note takers in all of her classes so that if she gets overwhelmed by sitting beside someone she doesn't know the entire lecture won't be a right-off

Tutors if she wants one for any/all of her classes

a reduced class load so she doesn't feel too bogged down by the work load

a student mentor to help her feel she is not alone

exam accommodations : Extra time, smaller writing area (room with max of 30 instead of lecture hall with over 500) and the ability to get up and go to bathroom if she needs to (nerves can do that to her)
Kinda amazing what there is out there for our kids if we just advocate for them! She also is getting a private room in an apartment style residence (darn thing is bigger than our 1st one was we were given the chance to tour her exact room so she knows what it looks like)

Phew there just thought you all might want to know!

OH!!!!! As long as we're putting in our requests Ronnie, want to take me and my cubs for Chrsitmas 2009??!!!;) :lmao:

But, seriously, what we all need is a long weekend at Disney w/out kids! (Can you tell I just got back from a looonnnng vacation?!) :rotfl:

It would be a blast to do a Thurs-Sunday, or something like that....I told DH I might go and camp...something he's not very interested in at all. Camping would be fun, wouldnt it?! Who wants to go w/me???:)

My kids would KILL me, but sounds fun... VA we are going to Atlantic City and Philly without the kids in Sept, and we are VERY excited about it, even though I will be working for at least part of the time.

Wow Jaqueline...it sounds like a good school that will make all those accomadations. I think you are very lucky...I think it probably depends on where they go. Good luck to Em, I am sure she will thrive!
