WOW so quiet. is everyone busy with spring time routines or just like me too lazy to fire up the puter after the day is done?

I am busy trying to plan a trip for the last weekend of May. em is flying to see a friend in a gorgeous part of the country up on top of lake Superior and we are driving to pick her up. Problem you ask?? not unless you consider sitting in the car for 10 hours 2 days in a row with very little between tiny dots on the map! I I have spent hours trying to find places where we will be able to break up the trip with Pee breaks & coffee for john!! We will pick her up and then turn around and do the same trek. Will be a wonderfully beautiful drive just worried that I will not be able to plan it out for the kid who has a bladder the size of a pea. So far I think i have it down to one section of 3.5 hours and then the rest are chunked out at around 1.5 - 2 hours. Should be nice to be stuck in car with John for all that time with no hassles execpt the screaming "hey I said STOP or turn RIGHT not LEFT"

I love road trips. I grew up traveling by car a lot, Dad worked for IBM so we went with him to NY and PA and CA, always by car, cause the company would pay for the car mileage/gas and would pay for lodging for the whole family if he drove, but only airfare for him if he flew. I just think it is SO relaxing and fun to drive cross country! :thumbsup2

I hope to have the time and $$ to do that someday. I would love to see the "middle states". I have been on the east and west coast. My kids will probably be to old to want to come by then. We like road trips too. We have driven to WDW a couple times and my kids would like to do it again. We will again in the next couple of years, I am sure.

So how is everyone....I am so far behind and crazey with work and kids. I hope everyone who was ill is feeling better and that spring has every one in good spirits!!:grouphug:

Hey everyone. Just poking around to see what all has been going on. Trying to get in the mood to do some cleaning

Ya mean its spring out there, Nancy?:lmao: Someone forgot to tell the weatherman in the middle states that spring had sprung... although they are saying we MIGHT hit 70 today. :woohoo: You can always come visit me, since I live in the middle states, and you can stop at T's on the way! My kids are good little travelers too, as long as they don't have to go for more than 8-9 hours per day or more than 3 days in a row... they aren't so crazy about REALLY long drives now, though we did a few when we lived in CA, drove from the base to Nashville, TN (5 days @ 8hrs each), then stayed there for a week and drove 2 days to Omaha area, stayed for 2 more weeks, then drove 3 days back to CA. WDW might be a LITTLE long for us to drive for the kids... plus I hate to waste the days, better to have more days in the world, ya know? But we may get to drive it one of these days...

Sooooo, slow around here,....:sad1: Nic eto see ya Kat!:goodvibes

:yay: :yay: I am such
an electric company FR .... EAK ...... Freak! (say it outlet...you'll get the effect better!:upsidedow )

Yeah, these were good stuff in the "old" days!! Tee hee! And good to see you also. Hope we can be on same time one day. Hear anymore about the job yet?

A road trip!! WOW!! And with your sweetie also. so special. And you could always take a camping port- a - potty with you for EM!

We took to the road a lot when we were young. Cost to much to fly. My brothers and I were talking about things that had happened when we were young at dinner Sat night. We flew one time when we were young and then I got to when I was about 12. We drove from Colorado to Fla panhandle when we moved, then back & forth to Texas, Colorado & Oklahoma for family funerals. Then move to VA., and drove lots here too.

I remember going to the drive in with my parents. We'd have a bed laid out in the back, cause we would never make it through all the James Bond movies my dad enjoyed. How we traveled across country also, mainly at night.

I hope you do get it all worked out and the cost of gas won't sink yor budget to bad! Take lots of pretty pictures for us!

Supposedly I have been through the west coast, as we landed in Calf from the transfer from Hawaii. I remember eveything east from Colorado, New mexico, Texas, Okla, and then all the states we drove through going back & forth. Let me tell you though, Kentucky and Kansas are nothing but waving grass and flat... at least a number of years ago! The Great Smokey Mountians are beautiful!

And Spring ... not here. There is a big discussion going on if we will have spring like weather or just dive right into hot, humid summer! At least we are about out of the drought now!

Hey everyone. Just poking around to see what all has been going on. Trying to get in the mood to do some cleaning

All I can say about that is "HI!!!" and ick. I have so much real laundry to do ... to bad I have no idea what to keep out and what to put away. Stupid weather changes! 40 for a high one day and 77 the next. Sheesh!

Same here. We drove straight through most times. It is 26 hours to Oklahoma family and then 34 or so hours back here from Pueblo, CO. We had lots of drivers then, the youngest of us kids on a permit.

I have thought about driving to DW. It is about 14 hours for us if I start at night. Not sure I could handle the kids on my own with total exhaustion though. Am trying to get the ex in laws to let us stay at their condo on the Altantic coast. Still an hour or so from DW, but very interesting. All I would need is food & gas money!! Such a nice dream though, I am pretty sure THAT won't happen!

So nice to see some posts to read & respond too. Hoipe all the others are doing ok, wherever they are.

Come back & post with us!

You need to get Em some of those "astronaut diapers". :lmao: DH and I actually drove to WDW when we were newlyweds. We were so poor, it was Motel 6 all the way, and the only credit card we had was a Union 76 card, so we ate at truckstops most of the way. I love road trips, but DH's body can't handle more than one day, 8 hours these days. Our last big trip was taking the kids to British Columbia 5 years ago. Beautiful trip, except for Ds's phone bill:scared1: .

:wave2: Hi everyone. This is me. If you remember, I had the flu and an ear infection a month ago. Well, I've been coughing ever since, and Sunday, I started running a fever. I went to the dr. this morning, and I have an infection in my lungs. So it's antibiotics and sitting around being lazy until I feel better. I watched Meet the Robinsons (loved it) and now I'm watching Disney splurges on the Travel Channel.
:sad1: I'm missing the field trip to the farm tomorrow. At least I have a good sub though.

Danielle, so sorry you are still not well! Hopefully these antibiotics will kick it!

Kat, yeah, it is quiet on here, lately, probably in part due to no T or KAW...
