how nice just when i NEED, truly need some friends there are peeps still up.

For those of who have ttens (older ones) or those who have already left home, how do you deal with the times when they feel that being a "young" child is better? All of a sudden i am spending more time with Em then I did when she was 5. I think the possibility of University is causing great stress and she is reacting in the only way she knows how .... Hang on tight to Mom and don't let her out of your sight.

We decided to take knitting lessons to give us something fun to do together ... she caught on ME mine looks like the dog had the needles :scared1:
B told me he doesn't want to go away to college, but he still has 2 more years to decide. He's been rather clingy in the last year or so, but considering the last 2 years we had I can see why.

I think the lady peeps will enjoy this thread:

:wizard:

You know...I got a theory about that!!! I dont think the whole going away to college, for many, is such a good idea to begin with. :thumbsup2

Especially for kids like my Goddaughter, who every other day her father has to drive to her college (only 1 hr away), cause she needs soap, underwear, $, food.:scared1: She is not one of those kids who can take care of herself....yet!:scared:

Look another long lost Limey has shown up!
We are beginning to think Em is one of those kids. The panic it is causing now has me concerned for September. Only good thing is we just went thru the calendar together and if she picks her course out in a hurry right on the 1st day possible she won't have ANY classes of Fridays giving her long weekends to come home if she wants, John on occasion teaches at a college that is only 3 blocks away from the University she will be attending. :thumbsup2

Good morning PEEPs!

Morning!!!(OK...Afternoon now!!!)
You guys have had a rough couple of years. He may change his mind by the time he graduates, but if not, fortunately you have a lot of good schools in your area.

I remember I couldn't WAIT to get out of the house and start college. Then once I got there, I got homesick, cause everybody went home on the weekends and I got very lonely there by myself. I was fine after the first semester, though.

I always loved Norm's response to that on Cheers : all 4 cheeks and both chins!

Happy Friday all! Yesterday Meagan came to work with me for the Take Our Kids To Work thing. That was lots of fun, but really exhausting for me, and I didn't get to DIS at all, it was awful!;) She had a good time and can't wait to come back next year. Still waiting to hear anything from the dr office on the results from the MRI, which was done Wednesday night. The only difficulty with it was that I had to lay flat and still on my back, with my knees propped up on a wedge thing, and with where my back is messed up, that is probably the single most painful position in the world. My back was having spasms after about 5 minutes and it took half an hour. But hopefully they will be able to see what is going on so we can get it taken care of.

What's the big plans for the weekend? I don't think we have much of anything going on this weekend, should be fairly quiet. It is chilly here so we won't want to be outside much, highs in the 40's and 50's all weekend.
