:scared: Happy b-day Lizzy, Tink & Martina!!

hang in there Winnie! We are dealing with some of the same with a bone that is only healing 1/2 for Chip. He broke it in July and still not right. It is the one below his thumb andthey want to put a screw in it.This is the local orthopedic, not the one in Richmond. and if any surgery is to be done, he will do it. Chip don't let no one else after some of the stuff happening.

And Winnie, if your mom will let ya, we can exchange your & Chips AIM and he can go through the pain meter with you. He is real understanding about missing stuff, pushing your self beyond whats best and not always sharing whats going on until it is unbearable. Trust me, I'm his mom! He broke the fibula in his leg when he was younger and didn't tell anyone. Doc found it on xray and Chip said it was not big deal, he didn't want to be held down or casted. So it is attached to his tibia on both ends of the break!:scared:

Hope ya'lls week is going great and things are getting finalized for the Halloween/Harvest or whatever you do next Friday!

QOTU--OMG, poor Winnie! :grouphug: I think she's trying to rival dh for the most injuries and/or surgeries! :rolleyes1 Happy early Birthday to Tink!

Heather--Happy Birthday to Martina too! Let the kids have some fun and icing the cupcakes themselves! (Of course I don't have to deal with the mess!)

The drivein is showing HSM3, Bev Hills Chihuahua, and the Shia Lebeouf movie that is out, so we'll probably be there sometime this weekend. :hippie:

Tink says thank you! Our drive-in closed for the season at the end of September. Drive in sounds like the way to go!:thumbsup2 tink and I just went and got tickets for tomorrow night. I'm sure it will be sold out before tonight is over.

I agree on the cupake thing. They are kids and they'll make a mess no matter what. May as well let them frost their cupcakes, they'll love it!

Oh my goodness lots of Birthdays that i seem to have overlooked  hope everyone of you (and your kids) get to do whatever makes you happy!

Sorry about the surgery! She must have been in incredible pain to need surgery -- wonder why she just pushed through it --- i know i know she wanted to play her sports but she musta been dying

Seem like my excitment over emily may have been premature. We had to fly in for a dinner on Tuesday since she phoned in tears and wanted to come home. In retrospect we should have just grabbed her and ran since we needed to go bring her home the next day anyway. She had to deal with 2 of the 4 roomies bing so drunk that alcohol poisoning was a question in everyone's minds. Then a knock-down drag out fight between her and one of them became extremely ugly and she was accussed of numerous things that would be hurtful to someone who is stable! John has just taken her back for a meeting with the residence life worker and her DON to see if something can be worked out even if it means moving to another room. The other posibility is her dropping out of school for good. Please cross your fingees that she stay in school and finds a way to make the living situation bearable.

 Poor Em! Fingers crossed!

Thanks Kat. That is really sweet of you and Chip. I have controls set for the younger kids so that they cannot use AIM. I am a mean and overly cautious mama! I don;t know how CHip goes through everthing he has to endure. But I understand the sticking with the doctor your comfortable with too.

Sorry about the roomie situation. DS went through that too. His first one was very prejudiced against him and said terrible, hurtful things. The second one was nice, but he was a video gamer and did not bathe for weeks on end. :scared: We all held our breaths when we went to pick up DS. Then he came home for 2 quarters while he went to the local community college. Now he's back at the university, and has a nice, relatively clean roommate. Tell Em don't give up. She may need to make a couple of switches before she gets a good one. I did it, and the roomie I ended up with is the one friend of mine so true, I will share my WDW vacations with her (and I won't even do that with most of my family).

Martina Says thanks for the birthday wishes...I can't believe my baby is 5!!!!

Sorry to hear about Em....I hope they can move her. Does her dorm have any single rooms? I know my school did, and they were reserved for students just like Em...kids with anxiety issues, and/or any other issue that may require a little more privacy than your typical dorm room. That could work for her if it is an option, but it is a double edged sword....she would have her space and privacy, but may get lonely. I hope you find some thing that works for her...I'd hate to see her drop out.

Is there a local community college that she could attend and commute from home?

I think I'm going with letting them frost them too....It's not like there won't be plenty of adults to help anyone who needs the extra help.
I'm worried that if They ice their own, they won't have enough time for the "fun decorating" but I'm also worried that if i pre-ice them, we will run out of activities and then have to figure out what to do with a room full of 5 year olds for a half hour.

Happy Birthday Tink!!!

Howdy all.

Danielle-- We know you'd share your vacation with us too! :lovestruc

Heather-- Um, you could always let them have a food fight! :thumbsup2

I can;t believe y baby is 13!!!!:confused3 HOw the heck did that happen?

Hey Piglets Mommy it's time to change Martina's age in your siggie!:thumbsup2

I figured that was the thing with AIM. Why I brought it to you first. I KNOW the QOTU moderates the princesses. If she wishes and you want to moderate... chipdip612. Course he will be at Tech this weekend, but you can decide any particulars as only the mom can!!

And the doctor sticking and the PT people you like... yeah, BTDT. Been trying to get him to go to a neuromuscular massage group for quite a while. His bone doc okay'ed it with no bone pressure a while ago and he will finally go in early Nov. They will do the foot stuff (reflexology?) and then gently check his back. Worries me that he is looking like a hunchback as his upper back tightens into major knots. I never knew that they could stick out in lumps that way....:sad1:

They grow fast!!!! Hang in there, Mom!!

Thanks for reminding me about the Siggie. Although....If I leave it as 4 will she stay 4 forever???

Have a great weekend guys! We have the Y's Harvest party tonight, a pumpkin party tomorrow evening at the City Center! The kids are all excited.

Hopefully that will help make up for mom having to work at the Y on the 31st. I am hoping a freind can take them to one of the churches and I can meet there afterwards and have a short time with them. I am not even sure any students will show up to swim that night, even though I have to!

Course, I'd rather work that night and have Thanksgiving weekend off than the opposite!

Hope your weekend is good!~

We do cookie decorating in kindergarten, and we give each child a little serving cup with frosting (about 2 tbsp) and a little cup w/sprinkles, and a plastic knife or a popsicle stick. It keep s the mess to a minimum.

Howdy all.

Yes, you all could, but only if I got to be QOTU, just for the duration of the trip. I'm a total control freak at WDW, because of the cost of getting there. Now, if it was DL, your wish is my command. I can always sneak back later.

OK, everyone knows I come here to vent, so let me just say, "I picked the wrong week to give up sniffing glue!"
sniffing2.jpg

Brian and I agreed last week that we are going to do Nutrisystem for 3 months. We both need to lose 20 lbs, but we have many minor bad habits that add up to the weight not coming off. The food is a little expensive, but we decided the control would help us to take off the weight and hit the reset button on how we eat. The food came mid-week, and we agreed that it would be easier to start on Saturday, when we had time to look at what we were doing.

So far, so good, right? I go to bed around 11 Friday night, only to have the phone ring at 11:40. My mother has a live-in caregiver due to multiple health problems. The caregiver calls and tells me to get over there, because she is leaving. No explanation, no nothing. I grab a set of clean clothes, pull on my robe and slippers, grab the morning food from my Nutrisystem carton, and zip over there.

The house was an incredible mess. We could report the caregiver for elder abuse, because the house was a health hazard. Rotten food left on the stove, in the fridge, soiled Depends left on the floor, dirty dishes and half-drunk water bottles everywhere! To top it off, mom got sick to her stomach, either from the stress or food poisoning, so when I wasn't cleaning the other messes, I had to do 8 loads of laundry and bathe my mother repeatedly as well as clean up the cr@p that got everywhere.

Anyways, I have kept to the Nutrisystem. (yay me!) In a way, it's a blessing, because heaven knows what I would be eating if I hadn't already laid out the money for this (donuts and cheeseburgers come to mind). I found an agency to send a certified nursing assistant for this week, and then Mom is going to "test-drive" an assisted living facility. Please all send pixie dust that the facility works out for her.

OK, vent over. Sorry for the TMI, but I just had to have my pity party.

Thanks PD. Sorry you had to read it twice.
