New search program results .

How many other users think that the new search program leaves something to be desired…to say it politely? Most of my responses’ have been “Sorry ….”

It's a whole lot better than the old search program, which typically came back with an error.

For more search options, use Google, with the suffix "site:disboards.com" which will limit search results to just the DIS.

I very rarely had a problem with the old search. I HATE the new search, to me it's basically useless.

HATE the new search feature and some people can't even get it to work at all

I don't like the new one either. The other day I was searching for a thread about Katrina (it was a fairly recent thread) and I couldn't find it.

I used the old search feature daily, because it was an easy way for me to keep track of all the threads I had posted on. Now, if I search my name, I only get the threads I started. Then I have to go into one of my threads, click on my username, and then selected "view other posts by Fayew". I hate this new search!

I am not fond of the new search function. I searched for a thread the other day, knew the exact name of it, and still did not find it.

But, I have gotten fewer server is busy messages lately, too.

I don't care for the new search. It didn't bring up anything current that I was looking for.

And I am still receiving "Server Busy Message". So it seems like removing the search from the server it not enough.

It appears that E-mail notifications might also be a problem. Because some that I have set to Instant don't come in for hours if at all.

I also have PM's set for E-mail notification and they didn't come thru until late lastnight from yesterday morning.

I get the "sorry" on advance searches with my username even when I have the exact keywords.

I don't like it, because it doesn't work for me at all!

I liked the old version much better (at least it worked).

Since I can't get the search to work, I've had to ask questions that I know were answered before.

Add me to the camp who does NOT think it is an improvement. I very very rarely got errors with the old one.

I am sure glad it wasn't just me! I thought I was the only one who had problems with the new search.

I never got errors for the old search program. I liked the old one a lot better and also used to search my posts to see where I'd posted. I'd also search for a poster to see when they'd last posted, especially someone who hasn't been on for awhile. I've been getting the server busy messages the last few days, too.
