New ride?

Does anyone know what is going where jaws was in universal Orlando resort?

Nobody here knows for sure, as Universal has not announced it. Most here are fairly certain it will be an expansion of WWoHP and include the Diagon Alley portion with a Gringott's coaster and the Hogwart's Express connecting the two areas.

I suppose one argument against this could be that Ollivander's is in IOA and isn't that part of Diagon Alley?

With the amount of time that goes into planning expansions, I would think they would have seen they'd be expanding into the Jaws area, so why put Ollivander's in IOA when you'll have a place to put it later?

Just speculation - They could easily move ollivander's as well or just leave it as one place that's a bit out of place.

Ollivanders is in Fact part of Diagon Alley but like they said when they came up with Ollivanders they were putting it as more as like a chain store. If the Diagon alley rumors are true which they probably are the opening date is well over 2 and half years away maybe more. So it was never planned to open exactly after Hogsmeade. Do you really think they could of gone 5 years or more without some type of wand shop. But I agree with you it is out of place it was just the best at the time.
I also read that it is confirmed that there is construction behind Dragon Challenge said to be the Hogwarts Express. Just Thought I should add that. But nothing’s been confirmed just speculation and of course rumors.

According to Wikipedia, there was a branch of Ollivanders in Hogsmeade. Apparently located in High Street and run by an associate of Garrick Ollivanders.

This is the conclusion we've reached here before when the subject has come up. Think of O's as a franchise. ;)

It's possible and most likely probable whatever expansion of Potter was originally planned to stay in Islands of Adventure, however when Universal execs saw that Potter brought attendance increases of 33% to IOA and only 6-7% to Universal they realized people are only doing IOA where the Potter area is and totally bypassing Universal.Sticking a new Potter section in Universal now they have to stay multiple days, stay onsite as Universal is building the new Cabana Bay hotel and cutting into Disney days in some visitors vacations.

So does this mean the jaws ride is being closed down or?
I used to love that ride I was looking forward to go on it next year!!
It's a classic!!

It was a classic. It closed at the beginning of the year and has already been demolished.

Awwwwwww no way!
I was only there's last year I'm devastated :(
Don't get me wrong I adore Harry potter just as anyone else does however I don't think they should demolish classic ones I nearly cryed when back to the future got taken down ;/

I hated when BTTF was closed and I hate that Jaws was closed. At least I got to ride it in December one last time.

To be honest I like the Simpsons ride but nothing will ever beat BTTF and whatever replaces jaws will never be as good as jaws. Oh well never mind.

Same here. I enjoy the Simpsons. But BTTF was a ride I made a point to ride multiple times. With the Simpsons, one time is plenty.

Same here I bought a back to the future pin years ago cause I collect them now apparently it's apart of history now, I got offered $50 for it in America last year when someone sawa it on my lanyard but I wouldn't give it up for the world

All the rides will have to be replaced at some point. They get old and they need new ones to attract people to come back or new visitors.

BTTF was ok, but I actually like the Simpson's better - it adds a bit more with the smells like when you go into Maggie's mouth.

Jaws was decent too, but can the younger crowd relate to Jaws? It also was old tech and could be much better if they redid it, but they are really trying to bring in a lot more people and a re-make of Jaws just wouldn't do it.

I could see ET or Twister being the next two to go. I'd rather see ET replaced first though - been on that a couple of times over the past 7 years and that's more than enough.

I know a lot loved Jaw's and think nothing can ever replace it.
have a feeling though that the new HP expansion could knock the shark out of the water :)

 You'd rather see ET replaced than Twister?! Let's see.... cute little classic dark ride the whole family can enjoy.... or a long line/preshow which brings you into a short little show in which some wind blows and things fall down.

They cannot take away ET... Plus they just got new name cards. It takes them forever to replace them

I honestly think that they should keep HP in IOA. They are tying to raise attendance, but I dont think they are looking at the big picture. I hate to say it, but eventually the HP fad is going to fade. They need to come up with something new to keep Universal up with IOA.. and I dont think that should include more Hp...

Just an opinion! lol
