Got VWL Studio 12/28-1/2/10- Called right at opening on the 28th.

We called yesterday afternoon and got our year planned out, except for the BLT reservations. No problems at all. Got everything we asked for first try.

5/22-5/25 - SSR one bedroom using Developer Points
6/18-6/22 - SSR one bedroom using Developer Points
8/14-8/16 - VWL one bedroom
10/16-10/18 - SSR one bedroom
12/23-1/3/2010 - SSR one bedroom

Our home resorts are SSR, BWV, BLT, and GCV. June use year.

We're hoping for 9/1-9/6 at BLT. Fingers crossed!

What size unit, category, and/or view were you trying to reserve?

AKV-Kidani dedicated 2BR savanna view

Did you get what you wanted on the first call or were you shutout?

First call

Does not look like AKV savanna view is going to be a problem under new system even for high demand days. Did not ask about other views, but for time I wanted, January 1 to 9, was informed there was plenty of savanna view availability -- studio, 1BR and 2BR -- for desired dates, which included January 1 and 2 which will be part of the holiday break next year. We often go that time of year and arrive a little earlier (before NYE) but decided next year to do NYE at home. Had some concern that Jan 1 or 2 might be difficult because those arriving earlier could weigh in on those dates before we did.

Also, got the "there may be construction noise" warning. Asked if that meant any part of Kidani would not be finished by next January and rep said he did not know but they were just following instructions (unchanged for several months) to give warning to all reservers

I like the new way sooooo much better!!!! having a hole in the middle of my vacation and being tied to the wait list..........like having a hole in my head......to each his own, but no way for me! like any other vacation (resort, hotel, etc.) book it all at once.

Called 11 months out wanted a 2 bedroom dedicated and a studio at VWL for the Marathon time next year.

Got the dates..no problem...January 6 to 11 for the 2 bedroom, and January 7 to 10 for the studio. Arrival for the 2 bedrom is on Wednesday. DSis is arriving on Thursday for the studio.

That's our last reservation using '09 points. I wish I had a planner already to easily plan out our '10 UY vacations.

Got just what I wanted at first call. MS was very helpful and nice.

Got exactly what we wanted!!!

Spoke with Abigail who was very nice and helpful! She commented that I was calling early, and called on the right date! She went over all my points used and what I had left, and asked if I wanted to bank my 90 points at this time. She reminded me of the date I needed to bank by!

This will be a trip for just me and DH (not telling ds about this...he'll be in high school and can't miss school...he'll be with us in December and missing 2 days). We'll be going for DH birthday!!! Our first year of dating I took him to AK for his birthday!
