New question about the Plaza

Hi everyone! I'm new here and I love this board. We're going to DW for the first time May 20th thru May 30th. We've been to DL three times when we lived in CA.

My aunt is a frequent visitor to DW. She was telling us about this little restaurant in the magic kingdom that had great seats to see the fireworks. She didn't know the name but she said it was near the castle and off to the right. She said they had tables outside and if you get one on the far edge you can see tinkerbell slide down and the fireworks great. She said it wasn't a fancy resturant either. I've been trying to search it out and it sounds like it might be the Plaza.

Does this sound right to you? Has anyone been able to watch the fireworks from their patio or whatever it is? I know that she HAS done this before...so it does exist...lol. I'm just trying to figure out which place it is.

Thanks
Beth

Welcome to the DIS Beth!!!!
Yes it does sound like the Plaza Restaurant that is being described. We ate lunch here years ago and we loved it.
I have not seen Wishes from this area so I can not help with that question.
Have a wonderful first visit to WDW, I am sure it will be Magical

I agree, it certainly sounds like she's describing the Plaza. We'll be having lunch there again in two weeks! But I've never been there during the fireworks so I can't comment on the view.

It sounds like she may be a little confused. You can see the fireworks from the outside @ the Plaza in Disneyland, but there is no outside seating at the Plaza @ WDW (unless this has changed recently). You may be able to see Wishes from the Plaza but it would be a very obstructed view IMHO. The Plaza is kind off to the right at the end of Main Street, but not very close to the Castle. I'm a little confused about this, but I think she may be confusing DL & WDW :confused3

It sounds like she's talking about the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. I think it used to be called the Plaza Pavilion or something like that? We've sat there before to watch Wishes and it is a good spot, but you have to get there early.

Yes, this is what I was thinking about. It is right next to The Plaza Restaurant, but the view should not be obstructed. There are tables outside of the Plaza Restaurant, but they do not serve food there. There are trees that would likely obstruct your view. As for The Plaza Restaurant, I imagine there could *possibly* be a few tables where you may be able to view the fireworks, but I would not count on being seted there!
