I'm toying with the idea of getting my oldest DS (he is 9 yrs old) a PSP handheld Go for Christmas. We only have a Wii and Nintendo DS in our house. I know nothing about PSP. He has been asking for the PSP Go but I suspect its more about how cool he thinks it looks and the fact that it slides ( a big thing to him ;)) Is it a good system?? I'm worried because it only uses downloadable games and is not backwards compatible to the old PSP games. Can anyone who is knowledgable give me some advice?? Is PSP Go a good system?? Will the next generation correct the fact that it only plays downloadable games or is this the wave of the future and game discs are going away??? I would hate to get this and next year they come out with a newer verison that plays both downloadable games and PSP game discs. Can you help me :confused3

I a quite familiar with video game systems and IMO this is not one to get.

There are many flaws with this version of the PSP that the earlier ones didn't have, and as you said, you can't use any of the UMD games with it.

It's a much better investment to get the earlier PSP version (3000) to me, and know that there's a full game collection available for it, without wondering if Sony will support the online downloads for long

I just don't think it's good enough for the price when so many other new similar, but better things are out, like the ipod touch which can do a lot more and has a much larger collection of games and apps already.

Thanks so the info. I didn't think it seemed worth it. It made more sense to me to get a Playstaion 3 than a PSP Go . At least with the Playstation 3 I could also play blu ray withit. Thanks again :goodvibes
