New (possibly) swap idea....

I was thinking late last night about swap ideas, and I wondered if ya'll have ever done a swap for JUST the rides/attractions at WDW, like Dumbo, Teacups, Small World, Astro Orbiter, Tower of Terror, etc. I also thought it might be neat to do a swap of JUST the restaurants of WDW.....'Ohana, Tony's, Le Chefs de France, Marrakesh, Liberty Tree Tavern, etc.

I'd love to do something like that for another swap, and I know I could use lots of these things for LO's. Also, what about just resorts as a swap idea, or another could be favorite food items from all around the parks (mine's a Dole whip! ).

What do ya'll think?

I think we prob have enough new people to do a round of parks/rides again (or enough oldies that have another trip or two to scrap since we started over a year ago..) I don't know if we've ever planned what happens after the Cruise Swap...

Personally I dont think there is enough similarities of where people eat to do restaraunt one as I think after 3-4 itd be really hit and miss and even with that I'm not sure even if people ate there they had pictures there (for me if it wasnt characters there is only 2-3 restaraunts I have pictures of and Ive eaten at 20+ places there) but I may be the odd ball here...

I did a swap similar to this a couple of years ago on CKMB. It was one group for each of the character meals. It turned out really great. Good luck with your swap!

Doing the rides sounds great to me!

I'm not sure about restaurants (for me) since we only ate at a handful of places & they tended to be the same both times. Character meals would work better for me. There'd be a greater chance of having been to one & if not, I'd think everything but the titles could be used on other pages.

I wouldn't do a resort swap if it was for all of them at once. If we did a series of small swaps - one for each - I'd be in for WL & AKL. Those are the only 2 we stayed at.

I'm a swap JUNKIE now!!! I missed the MK, EPCOT, MGM and AK swaps last time : ( . . . I didn't know what a swap was?!? I do now!!!

I would be interested in a park or ride swap!!!

Well, I don't want to step on any toes, and I understand the cruise swap is next. I just was thinking about something fun to do after that, and I would really love to do the rides for a swap. I was thinking there's just so many ways you could go with all the things to do. My GS loves Goofy's Barnstormer, and I have been trying to think of how to do of page for that. So that's when I started thinking about a ride swap.

However it goes, I'd like to be in on the next swap. I just haven't been on a cruise, but I want to do the next one after that.

Just wanted to add....

My thought about the "favorite food" swap would be something like MIckey Bars, Turkey Legs, Dole whips, Ice cream from the Ice Cream shop---well, you get the idea. I just thought there might be enough things in that category also. As far as the resorts go, we have only stayed at 3--POFQ, POP, and Ft. Wilderness (cabins), but we have visited quite a few others just touring around. At Christmas we went to several just to see the decorations and took several pix while looking around. That's what I had in mind. I guess I'm just thinking of all the different directions to go in for a swap for Disney.

I believe the Cruise swap sign-ups are scheduled to start today or tomorrow. I'd love to volunteer to host a park or ride swap, but with the way my mail gets handled some times I don't think that's a good idea!

I'm just hoping that we aren't overloading the ladies who do host these! I know all of us "swap junkies" appreciate their hard work!

I could host a ride swap, but I'll be out-of-pocket at the end of May until I get back from my WDW trip. I'd have to have advice from the other hostesses, so I'd know just what to do.

And I do appreciate all the work Disneyland Emily is putting into the Character Swap. She's been so nice to bounce ideas with, and just generally a very nice hostess!

Seriously, I'm having so much fun doing these swaps that I can't wait for the next one & I'm not even done with this one!

I hope I didn't hurt your feelings with the comment about hosting a swap. I think most of us newbies can't wait for the next one. I just didn't want you to feel pressured to start another right away.

I think you ladies do a terrific job, but I'm sure it must get stressful or at least make your RL hectic.

Okay, so do ya'll want to go ahead and start another swap to coincide with the Cruise Swap. This way those that aren't doing the cruise swap can have something to work on too. I'd like to call it a Ride Swap and to feature any rides at MK, AK, MGM and Epcot. Think along the lines of Tower of Terror, Teacups, It's a Small World, Splash Mtn., Big Thunder, Space Mtn., etc.

If ya'll want to do this, just let me know, and I'll post the swap either later tonight or tomorrow morning. It would probably have the same due date as the Cruise Swap, or it could be a week later if need be.

I'm in, but I don't know how I'm going to get everything done! LOL

I'm in the midst of a 50th anniversary project in addition to the character swap stuff. I'll go with the flow, but won't complain a bit if it gets pushed back a couple weeks. Staggering also might help if anyone wants to do both the Cruise & the Ride swaps, but whatever.

I thought about that. That's a good idea. We can start it in the next week or two, and then if anyone wants to do both, it will work out. I could also wait till the end of April to post it, and give it a late June deadline.

How about if we just start this on the 1st of May, then that way the character swap will be over, and the cruise swap will be half-way done. That would give everyone a little breather. Or we can even wait till June if you want.
