Probably make more money out of it, not as easy as it was to make a living being a florist. Unfortunately flowers are one of the 1st things people cut back on in a recession.
you're a florist? didn't know that...
flowers are cheaper than cheap here, so most people buy them at least once a week, if not more...but they're so cheap, even with people buying lots of flowers, i can't figure out how florists can make a living..
to give you an idea how cheap - for my son's wedding, we had massive amounts of flowers....there were 50 tables for the dinner - on each table was a huge arrangement of gorgeous flowers (sorry, i'm not good at knowing types, but they were stunning), also, before the wedding, in the reception there were massive amounts of flowers everywhere....also leading up to the wedding canopy was overflowing with flowers as was the area around the bride (before the wedding)...
for all of that, and i mean we had tons and tons and tons and tons of flowers everywhere (there were 500 guests, so lots of place to put flowers),
all of that cost only $375.....yes, you read that correctly, less than $400.....
nutso no? as i said, flowers are cheaper than cheap here...
so i haven't a clue how florists here can possibly make a living at it...
i just went to a funeral and bought a beautiful huge bouquet for $4....
how do they make a living?
