Just opened the email, looks like DVC is notifying the membership of the change by email. Anyone else get it. WOW what a novel idea, notifying the membership by email.
Better late than never.
I guess we should get ready for a rush of new questions and posters.

Well, the mods closed the polls I put up (though I don't REALLY understand why, since...while related, they weren't discussing the policy much AND it's not like we can post polls HERE?? But...whatever) but I think the sample size was enough to get a good feel for the anecdotal data, anyway.
Sunday seems to be the "most checked in" day (56%).
And the most usual length of stay seems to be between 5 and 7 days (69% fell into one of those categories).
I guess they don't like me ...![]()
Regarding the polls though - I wonder if the posters on these boards are a representative sample? It seems like most of us are trying to maximize our point usage as much as possible which leads to a lot of Sun - Thurs stays. Do we know for sure that the general population would be booking the same way we would? For example, a co-worker of mine owns DVC, and goes once a year for 7 days. Her arrival day decision is based strictly on airfare more than anything else. She isn't at all concerned about point conservation. She bought just enough points for a week and that's what she does regardless of check-in/check-out day.

We go once a week each year for a full week.
Certainly anything is possible, but my guess its fairly close to the rest of the world.
As for your example, is the coworker fine with burning 6 days of vacation instead of 5? I have to assume most working folks that go for 7 nights, would prefer traveling on a weekend day, so they can maximize the time at WDW on 5 days of vacation instead of 6-or minimized days at WDW with red eye flights.
The coworker travels mid-week to mid-week almost always so I guess using an extra vacation day isn't an issue to her. But, I do see your point about vacation time. With that in mind, I would still anticipate a lot more people arriving on Friday night or Saturday which is why I believe the poll numbers may be lower on these boards then in actuality at least for those two nights.
