New pirate makeover experience!

Nope ~ I found it on Etsy.
I just booked an appointment for DD on Dec 1st at 11:30. Mabye we will get lucky and Brenna will be there that day??
I am planning something like that, but with a peasant blouse under, and in pink and black to match the bandanna I keep seeing.

Hi Pirate Brenna :wave2: Leaving on Sunday for WDW. Wondering if you will be working PL next Friday, 9/4? Bringing in my DD13 for her makeover and would love to say hi.

Yep - I'll be there!! It's our first Halloween party, should be pretty exciting!

Wow, Dec. 1 is a long way out. There's a good chance my schedule will be different by then so be sure to ask again when it gets closer. If I'm on my current schedule then I should be.

Thanks Breanna for leading me here! We are set -- DS4 and GD8 will be getting transformed on 9/25 at 10:30am! I just hope DS4 will cooperate. My little one (DS17mo) will also be decked out in his pirate gear to cheer big brother on.

Seeing the feedback, pictures and experiences -- I think I am more excited than the kids! I promise to post pics when we get back!

Arrrghh!

48 Photos from our daughter's Pirate League experience yesterday.

We had a surprise for our daughter at 9:20am... Pirates League!

Unfortunately we missed seeing Brenna. Fortunately, we got Molly. She was very fun. Pirates League was BUSY. Total time about an hour and a half including two waits that totalled 40 minutes.

We got the upgraded Empress package that includes costume (but we got 3 photos, which confused us. Paid $107 total.)

First was the costume change and pirate name (Constance Squidcheese.) Then we waited 25 minutes for a chair to open up. The Molly gave her the tatoo, nails, and makeup, and administered the oath (which I video'd, way fun). Then a 15 minute wait, and the secret I must not reveal or I will be disemboweled. Then I handed over me wallet, and we did our own pictures outside (which may have helped to draw in more customers! - random people started taking pictures of our daughter, LOL.)

The whole experience was well worth the price.

ParrotBill - thanks for sharing your DD's Pirate transformation! pirate: She looks like she was having a wonderful time there. :cutie:

She had a blast! It is real hard to explain how worth it this was. She secretly wants to be the center of attention (but claims to be shy) and this puts the spotlight on each kid really well... and it continues outside. We had quite a few people take her picture and make comments to her.

ParrotBill - my DS was there on Aug 27 also!

He had a 9:15am appt. We had Pirate Allison, and she was great with my DS and his million questions. It was a surprise for DS, but he loved every minute! His pirate name was Henry Bridgewash. Totally worth every cent. After his transformation etc. we went outside and saw Captain Jack and he asked DS to sword fight him. pirate:

I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful information I found here, especially Buccaneer Brenna, your insite and tips have been great.

My DS is excited about this. Of course we will have to see how he does once we are there, but hey I have until Dec. to keep telling him about it. And besides, dad will be right there with him getting it done.

I'm having a hard time deciding on whether to buy costumes while there, or to bring our own. DD and DS both have appointments, plus we'll be doing MNSSHP that night - but I'd hate for them to look like all the other little pirates running around with identical costumes. Plus they only have one outfit for the girls package right? The pink/black dress?

Hmmm, what shall we do? :confused3

I didn't want to spend too much on a costume so I got my DD this one from Party City for $19.99 with a $10 off coupon that I found on slickdeals. Everyone was saying how cute her costume was and a CM at the Contemporary gift shop said it was the nicest one that he had seen so far. I haven't downloaded our pictures yet because we just got back yesterday but I'll post my DD's pictures some time this weekend.

Here are some pictures from my DD's makeover and the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise that we went on that night. We thought that The Pirates League was way more fun than the BBB makeover that my DD did a few years ago. The fireworks cruise was also lots of fun and my DD was asking if we were going to do it again next year.

My DD just did this on Friday the 28th. I had asked her earlier in the week if she had wanted to do it and she said not! Then we peaked in after riding Pirates a 3rd time and wanted to do it. We didnt start until almost 5pm, they had plenty of room for us as a walk up.

It was wonderful! Much more interaction than the BBB we did a couple of years back. BBB was great but this is more of an experience than BBB was. She wasnt just made over, she was made a pirate! Arrrr!!!!

Our Cm was wonderful, told Dd stories the whole time, really, really made it an awesome experience! There was just Dd and a little boy inside. She is now Rachel Gunscow the pirate empress! We did the full package with the pictures, worth every penny!

Thanks Breanna for leading me here!

Thank YOU for visiting!

Fortunately, we got Molly. She was very fun.

I shared your pictures with Molly - she loved your daughter, had great memories with her!

Totally worth every cent. After his transformation etc. we went outside and saw Captain Jack and he asked DS to sword fight him. pirate:

These are the stories I love to hear - thanks for sharing!!

Very very happy to help!

Hooray! We're trying to stress how different the two are, the more reviews like this help us differentiate them! Thank you!!

How cute! We are doing the Pirate and Pals Firework cruise on Oct 1. My kids we both wanting to be pirates for the MNSSHP on Oct 6 and I have PL ressies but now they want to be a Prince and Princess...I am trying to figure out what to do becaue I know that they will LOVE this...decisions decisions!

I so loved reading about everyones experiences there--I'm so excited for my kids....I almost want to get it done!! (is there an age limit???) I'm hoping that Disney Store will have prate costumes for boys like it has done in the past, DS is 5 but I am thinking about getting one of these custom made ones, how much do they run?

Can anyone tell me how much it cost and do you need reservations?

The basic package with no costume and one picture is $50. You probably would be able to just walk in and do this without a reservation if you don't want to be tied down to one. When we were there on a Friday afternoon there were empty chairs. Also earlier in the week when I walked by and looked in they weren't terribly busy. I would however think that they would be much busier on a MNSSHP night.
