New pirate makeover experience!

Hey Berlioz - thanks for answering all the questions.
Now here's my dilemna.

My family is heading down to the World in Oct/Nov for MNSSHP.
We will all be dressed as Pirates of the Caribbean and I thought the League would be perfect for my DS (my DD did Bibbibi Bobbidi Boutique last time).
However, we already have our costumes (complete with swords).
DS will be going as Will Turner and is not a fan of face paint (I get the honor of being Jack).

So my question is what else does the Pirates League offer?
I know there's a Treasure Cache with a picture but is that it?
If so, maybe we'd be better off attending Jack's Pirate Tutorial already in our costumes.

I'd love to hear your opinion since you're definitely in the know!

I just booked the Pirate experience for Thursday Oct 1st and I have run into a small problem.

The only time they had available was 3:35. We are only going to the MNSSHP so we will not be allowed in until 4pm right?
Are there no times after 4pm on halloween party nights? The Cm could find nothing.
Do you think if I keep the 3:35 time they will let me in earlier than 4pm for my ADR?
He is so excited! I hope we can work this out so he can go he is really looking forward to it.

Hi Aryn,

You might have a problem there. I would keep trying to call back to get a cancellation. We have an appt for 4:00 Oct 1 but we have MNSSHP tix and reg tix w/ PH. I don't remember how early they said to get there either.

But I am pretty sure I read on this thread or was told when I called that the pkgs are avail reg hours even for party nights. I think it is probably very popular on late afternoon/ early evening of party nites so that is why nothing was available.

You'll essentially be purchasing a pirate name, a printed oath (with the said name), map case, photo, treasure map (with Adventureland activities), the exclusive pirate coin, and the merchandise:
Bandana
Fake Teeth
Eye Patch
Earring
Tattoo
Sward
Sheath

The experience is a lot of fun, but if you're not interested in the above physical items then I'm not sure if you'd want to pay $50 for it without the makeup.

Afraid not, it sounds as if the front entrance is pretty strict with that 4 pm since your ticket will not be activated until that time.

As the PP said, we are not extending our hours on nights of Parties, so we still stop taking appointments at 6:30. I'm sure that's why you couldn't get anything later. Keep trying is the best advice I have as well.

I work Tuesday-Friday, so unless I get overtime that week I won't be there. Have fun though - it'll be a blast!

We have the cruise scheduled for August 3rd and I thought we were to meet around 8:00 to 8:30. 6:30 seems awful early for a 10:00 wishes.

I was considering booking the latest time for a pirate makeover to allow more rest time during the day, plus you really can't cool off in the pool after you get this done. But I am rethinking this plan because it seems silly to spend $50 on a makeover that will see us go from Adventureland to the Pirates and Pals Cruise and then to bed. I suppose DD7 could go to the AK the next day as a Pirate Princess, but I really can't imagine the makeup making it through the whole night.

I wonder how much attention a Pirate Princess receives from Capt Hook and Mr. Smee (or Peter Pan, for that matter). Maybe we would be better off doing it 2 days later when we have more time at the MK. Then we could see what kind of attention Lady Tremaine gives her at 1900 Park Faire. I can see her telling DD to stand up straight and smile like a (pirate) princess right now. That might even be worth buying the whole outfit.

ohhh, you will be there when we go on 9/8 (tuesday) at 4:30. My boys are sooooo excited. I keep showing them the blogs and any pictures you can find. My youngest wants to get the Captain Hook make up, no clue why he loves hook so much. The oldest wanted the eyes, but is nervous about how long he will have to be still while it drys.

Here is a silly question, but my daughter wants to know what the nail polish colors are she can choose from. She wanted some weird color like blue, purple, green or black.

After seeing some of the photos posted in reviews my DD has decided she would like to do this after all. I just called and was able to get a reservation for Tuesday, September 15 prior to MNSSHP (4:30). I was rather surprised that such a prime time was available, but happily scooped it up.

We had BBB booked two nights, prior to the MNSSHPs on the 11th and 15th. DD would have chosen different hairdos for each appointment, but I really wasn't happy about paying for the same thing twice. Now she'll do BBB on the 11th and Pirates League on the 15th. I'm probably more excited than she is, LOL.

My DBF have decided to do this as a date sometime during our August 10-16th trip. I would get it done on the 13th (my B-day) but we have 2 ADRS and are going to be in Epcot! but I think we will try to be there when Brenna is working so we can say hi. Booking tonight! Can't wait!

Yes - personal costumes are welcomed!!
There are two bandanas to choose from:
Black/Pink with a reverse side of grey
Black/Red with a reverse side of black

The front and back are different patterns, but identical between the two options (hopefully that makes sense).

The oldest wanted the eyes, but is nervous about how long he will have to be still while it drys.

Depending on the pirate, it does take awhile to apply the eyes (it's personally hard for me to keep my eyes closed, but I get antsy easily - some kids are great!). I would say an average time could be 10-15 minutes for the eyes to be painted, then a little longer for the rest of the face. Typically you may have to keep the eyes closed for the full 30 minutes, because if you open the eyes before it's fully dry the whole look is ruined.

That's pretty close - good memory!
Nails are black and pink
Lip gloss is a pink and red
Eye Shadow, there are six: Orange, Green, Pink, Purple, and Two Blues scared1: one is like the hair the other is like the face)

I think we will try to be there when Brenna is working so we can say hi.
