New Pal Mickey Features?

What I've heard:
  • louder speaking voice
  • different outfits/ability to change outfits
  • new trivia replaces some jokes
  • new singalongs
  • games (not sure what this means)
  • updated sayings (ie. attraction names that have changed or come into being)
I would like to hear from an expert though - I am certainly not that, just regurgitating what I have read.

We saw him in the stores but didn't get one. We have an older one that the kids really enjoy. The box says that he will tell you when/where characters are as well as remind you about parade times so it seems like he is synced better with real time activities which would be cool.

I seems like one of the problems I had heard about with the previous version was that the clip with which you "attach" Mickey didn't work too well. Anyone know if that's still the same?

As one of the posts mentioned, he now has a lanyard and can be worn around the neck now. Whether this means he no longer has the clip as well, I don't know. Anyone with a version 2 know if he still has the clip too?

We are going to DW in a week and I was really thinking about buying a pal Mickey... any feedback on whether this is a worthwhile purchase?

PM2 does come with both the lanyard and the clip. I have used a lanyard for the past 2 years with my PM1 with no issue other then the new lanyard that comes with PM2 is much softer :) I have yet to use a PM2 in the parks since it was a b-day gift for a friend but I can tell you that having them next to each other PM2 is louder.

I'd have to hunt down PM1's booklet to see but from a quick look at PM2's booklet newer games. I have not had a chance to hear him sing and I'm wondering if that is a park only interaction, I have to ask a lady who lives in FL when her new PM2 sings.

And the outfits? not sure if my little Mick has room in his bursting closet for anymore but I'm sure he'd empty a drawer of mine in order to make room for more ;) Gotta scoot, the little Mouse is begging for a slice of cheesecake before bed :)

One last thing, he DOES have a larger head then PM1 and gloves too. Seems Mick won't have to worry about his future PM2 brother borrowing ALL his clothes. This was a huge question for those of us who already had existing outfits for our PM1s, what would fit and what wouldn't. For me it will only be a few things that won't fit PM2.

I hope if you get one that you have as magical an experience with him that me and my disney-crazed friends have had with ours. ACK! He's attempting to get the cheesecake out of the fridge himself! Gotta run! :-D *LOL*

We have Pal Mickey (1). We really like him. I'm wondering if it is worth it to get a new Pal mickey, or will the older version have the same info?

I was thinking about getting PM2. I had decided against it before seeing this post. In addition, I want to get the DVC shirt you can put on Mickey. I think I will wait for my October trip to get him instead of my June trip. My boss (who will be there in June) will absolutely think I'm nuts to spend that amount of money on PM2.

Disneyokw - you need a "certificate" to get the DVC shirt. It will be in the Welcome Home package. I had a heck of a time getting mine. I asked in several different stores and no one knew anything about a DVC Shirt. Finally at OKW I was told I needed a certificate and she showed me what it looked like. We went to the front desk and asked for one (since we were checking out and the packet was packed away). Went back to the store with the certificate to be told, it wasn't the right one. I pointed out that the certificate I had said it could be used but it didn't have the UPC symbol on it that the certificate in their handbook did. I was persistent and the CM finally gave it to me.

Good luck and hopefully by the time you go, you won't have any trouble.

I have the original and the HCOE version PM 2. Side by side, my own Pals are pretty much the same volume.

The new Pal has more trivia and not so many corny jokes. He sings 7 different songs. So far I have heard Yankee Doodle, M-I-C-K-E-Y (Mickey Mouse March), Hakuna Mata, Be My Guest, It's A Small World, and some pirate song. He'll just giggle sometimes and when you press his hand or tummy he wants to sing.
