I have never been to NO. Will I be able to do some exploring if I came a day early or stayed a day late, in spite of the crowds. Will I be able to eat at some of the places we've always wanted to even during the fest? What are the best options for housing? What is the difference between the two weekends, other then the line up? What are the best options for housing? I"m considering renting something from vrbo. Can we do without a car? If I rent from vrbo I'm considering opening the trip to my college kids. Would they also like it? They have very broad music tastes.
Sorry for all of the questions.
The kids will love it, you will have plenty of time to explore. You can do this without a car, plenty of taxis .
For adults only , I perfer to stay at
http://www.lamaisonmarigny.com/.
I love love love the owners, it is a homey, gorgeous place and not the most expensive in town, not the cheapest either, but true N. O. hospitality . ON Bourbon St, but at the quiet residential end. Right around the corner from Port of Call.. a not to be missed burger joint.
By all means do VRBO if you want to bring the kiddos , kids of all ages love it. Your college age kids will be thrilled, all different types of music.
It is a busy time so you need to get on looking for a place to stay now.. restaurants will be busy , but N.O. is always busy .. so you will be fine, just plan ahead and have a idea of what you want to do .. just like Disney.. have a plan ; ).
Forgot to answer the weekend question.. nothing different to me about weekends, but the lineup.
I will look at VRBO and try to give a heads up on a good place to stay.. how many bedrooms will you need if you bring the kids?
