New one bag per person check-in at resorts

A recommended dose of sunscreen per application is 1 oz. (i.e. a shotglass full)

Since I come from a family of skin cancer sufferers I go with the recommendations so the 3 oz bottles are three applicaitons.

My solution... (which was probably already mentioned but I didn't read everything)

OWNER'S LOCKER!

Every so often I buy a new sunscreen and stick it in there. Works great.

I have full size sunscreens, full size hairspray, full size hair junke and so on....

I have thought of that too. What stops me is this: I have paid a lot of money for a ticket. I shouldn't pay more to have my bags sent separately. We can manage on one bag per person. In fact, the last time we flew, we had 4 tickets and only checked in 3 bags. In June, we will have 4 tickets, 4 bags and 2 carry ons. Should be fine. Oh how I love the washer and dryers at OKW.

Soo, does the airline give you a refund for only checking in 3 bags instead of 4 since you are saving them money?

If you ever wanted to know what the word "sheeple" meant, just go to an airport. I hate flying because it's a royal PITA. I grew up thinking airline pilots had the greatest job, but now that I know most beginning pilots make like $30,000 a year for the first 5 years. It's not good people, not good.

This link might help clarify the luggage policy.

We plan to only pack 5 outfits and wash clothes half way through our 10 day drip. Since most laundry rooms are by the resort pools I can spend time at the pool and do laundry. I have done this in the past and it works out great. I hang out on the DIS Budget boards Freebie thread and send away for the free detergent samples then save them for our WDW trips. I have 4 on hand now and just signed up for 3 other samples. Throw in a few dryer sheets and you are all set.

DME and RAC are not the same thing. DME will let you take numerous suitcases. RAC is limiting it to one checked bag.

RAC didn't limit us to one on Friday....but that could have been due to airline status?

Yes, elite status passengers won't incur extra bag fees.
Also, American's charge for the first bag isn't effective until June 15 so there is a little grace period.

We flew American Eagle for the first time over the weekend and I was shocked that they took my carry-on bag (and everyone else's!) as we were boarding and put them in the cargo hold! If there had been anything valuable in my bag I think I would have been upset! The guy in front of me got his bag back with all of his things hanging out the bottom. He was IRATE. My bag came out a bit dirty but it was intact. I think from Dallas to Kansas City I will go on SW from now on.

Yep, I know AA and UA won't charge us. But the articles say that RAC won't take more than one bag. That wasn't our experience. I didn't hear the gal mention anything about my DHs status but maybe I missed it.

It does make sense that eventually RAC won't take more than one bag for many flyers. Isn't flying fun these days?:rotfl:

That's because there is NO carryon room on those AE flights. I routinely give commuter airlines my laptop and have never had an issue. Not sure what happened here?
