*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

I always rent a car for a few days when I travel and the US does not require an international drivers license to rent you a car, as long as you stay with the car for no more than 3 months.

The good thing about international drivers licenses is they last for a year. I got one when I traveled to Sweden and it was super easy (at least for the US, not sure what your requirements are!). Are you renting a car directly after your trip? There are two car rental places in WDW and they are ran through National and Alamo. Are you over 25? If not they charge you extra :(

We are renting a car directly after the trip and found out that the cheapest way to do it so to pick up the car at MCO since we are flying home from there when we are delivering the car back. We are both over 25 so we don't have to worry about any extra cost.

Thank you for the info. Now I don't have to worry about getting the international drivers license.
It's really not that difficult to get one. I just have to show up at our AAA office with a passphoto and they will fix a international drivers license for me. I just have to find out where the office actually is and find out when they are open. Not really that hard I know. But it has to be done.

Weather channel predicts low 70s. I have heard it could be anywhere between 50-85, I mean you never really know. But it seems normal that it would be low 70s, which is fine by me! Just pack layers, that's we plan to do. That way you can always add or subtract depending on the day. You might be happy to hear though that February has the least amount of rain fall for the entire year :D

This is why we chose February! HA. We have had 3 trips and two of them had mostly rain. Not that it stops us, but I would like to stop being wet. HAHA.

Just found this-ME luggage tags arrive 14 days out. You must book with original package or room reservation, but could add 14+ days out.

Hmm well I'm way more than 14 days out! I just want my Mickey mail! Lol I'm not even going to take advantage of the Magical Express luggage tags because since we have to claim our baggage to go through customs anyways we are just gonna hang on to it from there!

It's offical now!! We are part of your group! I bought our airline tickets yesterday and booked a suite at the Buena Vista Suites today! I can't wait!! What's one thing you are looking forward to the most?

Hi y'all! I booked my flights. Ended up going on the cheaper Southwest flight that gets in at 4:25 pm, taxes took a chunk out of that overtime check. Called Disney on first break, on hold fifteen min, had to end. Repeated on second break. On lunch got an answer after 50 min. Nice advisor, rather thick accent and poor connection. I believe she got my flights and magical express set up. I did not get a confirmation email yet, and the Magical express does not appear in my online My Reservations page. Should I be worried??

I got a reminder today from the vet that one of my cats needs to check his teeths again. He and one of my other cats has a disease so they need to get their teeths checked every 6 months.
I had forgotten all about this so when I got the reminder I got a bit bumped. I called the vet and got an apointment for all my cats (2 cats are getting their teeth check and one just needs vaccine) So there goes some more money out the window before our trip.

I have the money so that is ok. I guess the 2 cats that need to be placed under general anesthesia to get their teeth checked will be just fine by the time they all are going to my parents house two days later to stay there while I'm away.

Our last February trip it only rained twice - briefly. The first time we were heading into Sci Fi to eat and it was over by the time we were finished. The second we just powered through! Only lasted about an hour, and the parks cleared out! I'll take it!

I would be worried yet. It can take up to 24 hours for the emails to get to you. If you don't get it by then, I'd call back just to verify the information.

I don't trust the website a lick - I see things that shouldn't be there at all and don't see things that should! :lmao:

MAGIC! That awesome feeling when you see the castle and when you hug Mickey, those twinkly lights you see and everyone's eyes. Yes, that's magic for me. ::yes::

YAY I started my packing list for the trip :cool1::cool1:
You're doing a packing LIST, I'm almost done packing! ;) and I don't leave for 34 days :hyper:

I think it is showing my hubby the jumping fountains at Imagination pavilion. I think he will be delighted! He's never seen them. He only got to go to Magic Kingdom for 8 hours in 1972. Never been to Disneyland or Epcot either. And he is a a huge fan of Walt Disney. So I look forward to sharing the magic with my Grumpy (who probably will not be at all grumpy since I have planned to feed him delicious food or pastries every two-3
hours.) Yay quick service dining plan. I'll buy breakfast before we leave Pop, and then we split 4 meals a day. Man eats like a hobbit...not a lot but needs food often. Hummingbird type.

Happiness! Got a text and there is a fat envelope from Disney waiting for me. Mickey Mail Part 1! Magical Express was booked today, so I'll get my tags later.

Katie

Got my ME package in the mail today!cc:cool1: There were no luggage tags enclosed, just had the yellow tags you add so they know which hotel to deliver the suitcases to.

Anyone know about placing an order through Walmart to get delivered to the hotel? When I should place the order? I was going to order through Garden Grocer but I have heard of people ordering from Walmart for snacks and water bottles and it being much cheaper.

No Mickey mail yet.

I am READY for my long-awaited vacation. 25 yrs is way too long between visits. I will go more often in future.

Katie
Feb 1-7
Pop Century

As you can see from my ticker at the bottom, we waited 24 years between trip #3 and trip #4! Now we are 40 days from trip #8 :cool1:

Since I book with a Disney specialist TA I don't get my Mickey mail until about 2 weeks before we leave home. I really get antsy for it before it finally arrives.

Add me to the list of people who are super frustrated with the new Disney website :badpc: I haven't even bothered to try checking it the past few days.

Just got our tickets! Wife and I will be going Feb 2-6. We're staying offsite since we got a great Groupon at a local resort. Can't wait to get there.

We are going for the first time since 1995, first time with kids. We will be staying at AOA Cars, Feb 4-9. We are also participating in the YES program, individual enrollment so kids are very much looking forward to this trip!

I am lurking on this board alot these days as I found out we would be going on December 27 and booked on December 29th. Would have booked earlier had the website not been down with the switch over!

Welcome to all who are planning a February 2013 trip to the World! There was a February 2013 thread, but the original poster changed dates, so I decided to make a new thread so I could update the thread as needed.

My dates are decided, February 2-9 but still undecided about which resort. This trip it will be me, DH, DS (6), DS (5), DD (6 months) and MIL. We are either thinking a suite at AoA (if included in FD) or 2 rooms at Pop. We have stayed at Pop two times already and my boys absolutely love it there!

Please let me know your dates and resort and I will add it to the list if you are not already on there. Lets have fun planning our trips together! :cool1:

We also have a Facebook group, so if you would like to join that, private message me and will then be able to add you to the group! :)

Tickets arrived!!!! 28 days till we fly in!!
As for weather watch in Feb......hmmm. It is 15 below with wind chill right now in ND and I spent the last 7 years in soggy old Seattle. What could possibly happen down there that would be worse? Rain or shine- we are having a good time!!.
Budget even came in right. Using airline miles for flights back, flights down came to $150.00 after discounts. Using Mousesaver deal at the Beuna Vista for 6 nights, and bought Disney gift cards at Target for 24% off to buy our tickets. I know I can't save a lot in the park, but what the heck, we can splurge there. This will be our first trip to WDW, and we are gonna enjoy it!!

I booked mine directly through the website, granted it was right when they updates went through, and it is not linking correctly for me. Should I just keep trying everyday until it does? I need to put in a room request due to a disability, but can't get in to do it.

Disney is updating official website (per Disney Tech dept.). I was in the initial 25% Beta group for the new website. New site to support My Disney Experience App. Log-in is same for new website and App. New website to go with Disney Wi-Fi, RFID, new FP+, etc. New website is being updated daily. CM systems too. If you have access to the new site, it states the any reservations entered prior to 12/12/12 may not show and to go to the old reservations link. Also, packages not booked by Disney (i.e. AAA) are having trouble being linked to new system.

I'm really trying to stay as excited as I was when I booked our trip but I have to be honest that all the rehabs and closures during our stay has me a little down. :(

First Splash Mountain, then the Disney Junior show and now Kali River Rapids..

I'm just keeping my head unknowing its still going to be an awesome trip...we'll be there on my DD's 5th bday and we'll have the new Fantasyland! :)
