*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Just booked a trip for the last week of Feb.!!! Didn't think I was going, so I am beyond excited. This will be a surprise for my youngest son (11). The other two have had a solo trip with me, so now its his turn. I think I'll tell him the morning before we go, so he has time to pack his stuff (iPod and various other things I might not think of). Now, I just want to plan!

Mickey Mail just arrived!!!

DH and I are headed down *without* our beloved children for a belated 40th bday celebration :). We usually stay at Ft. Wilderness because of the space and proximity to MK, but we booked POP for a change of scenery ( and it is WAY cheaper, LOL)

Arriving for a quick getaway Feb. 4 to 7. Can hardly wait!

Just wondering if you could explain the 24% off Disney gift cards from target? I've seen this mentioned a couple times but never inquired. I'd love to save on some Disney spending money!!:)

Assuming we missed the boat, but I'd also like someone to explain, if possible. Thanks:thumbsup2

Just a heads up. Tried again to call the wdw tours line to book our Behind the Seeds tours and am getting a message saying "our website is currently undergoing enhancements. We are unable to book or change dining, resort or tour reservations at this time. Park tickets are also not available for sale at this time. Please try back early this afternoon. It is 1:30 eastern and same message still.

Awesome!

I was looking forward to February opening, only to realize I need to book it March 3 :faint:

More waiting...

LOL. I realized the day I may want is March 1!! DRATS. Ha.

I just called to add my new flight info for ME and got an "all circuits are busy now" message. WTH. Ha.

Ok, let's talk about what you're PACKING! Jackets, coats, gloves, none of the above? :) It's been 15 degrees here in WV, so I'm sure it will be warm to us no matter what... but I still want to be prepared!

I don't know anymore what I'm going to pack after I found out that New Orleans has very low temperatures. I don't want to pack too many clothes, but on the other hand I don't want to freeze either :confused3

Being from Mississippi and Vacationing in FL almost yearly, tho regrettably never Orlando if the temps are forcasted for 70 or above during the day I plan on packing at LEST one pair of shorts, along with Capri pant and jeans. T shirts and a tank top (Just in case one day gets up to 75 or 80) It's going to feel pretty warm in the sun and pretty cool as soon as the sun sets so we also plan on a hoodie or flease pullover each. If ANY day is forcasted under 70 I plan to skip the shorts and pack Jackets instead. In my experience ones it gets cold it's likely to stay that way at least at night for give or take 3 days and if it rains it can and most likely will get pretty hot then drop 20-30 degrees over a day. Today in MS it's 46 but the forecast for the weekend is 57 next Tuesday is 61 Last week it was 73 . . . . . you can just never tell

Hi everyone! I am subbing in... I am going to try to get caught up on the thread. We just found out that my husband is going to Orlando for a work related class... My son and I will be tagging along so that we can go to WDW. :cool1: We will be there February 11-17! What do you guys think the crowds will be like since our dates are the week and weekend right before President's Day? Has anyone been during this time? Thanks in advance, and sorry if it has been asked previously. It will take me awhile to read through everything. I am super excited since I have been dreaming of another trip since the day we left in April!!

So much depends upon the forecast. One thing is a definite, I will be wearing my winter coat on the plane and there will be gloves in the pocket. ;) If the weather is really cold, below 50 degrees, then I'll bring a knit hat, too. The rest of it will depend on the weather. I usually just make sure all the laundry is clean, and then I pack the night before I go. All the other gear, like a book light and things like that, can be packed ahead of time.

:cool1: That is really great to be able to tag along on your husband's business trip. :)

That will be Mardi Gras week. All I know is that the Louisiana schools usually have that week off, and a group of them travel to WDW for the week.

Packing in layers is the best way to go. That way you can add or subtract when needed. I never bring anything too bulky. Just t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, and jackets/fleece/etc. I am also not afraid to wear the same middle or upper layer again. Just make sure all of your clothes can be matched together (stay in a similar color palette).

Oh and before I forget! Not sure the last time this was mentioned but figured I'd mention it again :) We have an incredibly active Feb 2013 facebook group (recently it's been active about every 10 minutes lol).

UndercoverMama is the moderator so PM her if you are interested in joining or you could just PM me too since any member can add new people to the group!

My family and I are traveling Feb 1-9. I have been looking at the wait time and am getting really nervous. What are the odds of us have 2 hr wait time for rides?

NONE! Don't worry, crowds will be very manageable during your time there. These two hour waits for the first week of February are bound to disappear as soon as the new year crowd leaves, which will happen this weekend.

Your chances are really slim of that happening. That is a really low crowd period. Some of the newest rides, like the ones at Fantasyland, might be more crowded. And Toy Story always seems busy. But most rides are a walk on. Just get a fast pass for the few popular rides and you'll be fine.

probably a dumb question(but it is the only time we can go) but are the crowds really bad 14-17(Presidents weekend)?? Hoping they are tolerable...

Heavier than the first week of February but not THAT bad. Things start to pick up on the 16th so I'd use your earlier days to hit your must-dos and the last two days to revisit favorites.
