*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

...and the flights were $50 per person cheaper than when we first started looking last month. We will be driving 4 hours to fly out of New Orleans, LA (those rates were $216 per person cheaper than flying out of Monroe, LA; which is much closer to where we live.)

We will be there February 26 - March 5, 2013. It will be me, my DD, her DH, and my DD's BFF. We will be staying at the POR in a Royal room.

We have ADRs at:

T-Rex 2/26 late dinner
Be Our Guest 2/27 dinner
50's Prime Time 2/28 dinner
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show 3/1 early show
The Garden Grill 3/2 early dinner
Tusker House 3/3 breakfast

118 days!::yes::

Officially coming February 23 - March 4 :dance3:
We will be there February 26 - March 5, 2013.

Whoo. More DISers for the fun week :cool1: Nanny2004, we have dinner ADRs at 50s Prime Time on the 25th so I'll try to remember to post about the service/food from my phone if anything was super awesome or avoidable.

The first thing my friend and I did during my last stay was say "Let's go check out DTD." (5 second pause) ":rotfl: Yeah right, MAGIC KINGDOM HERE WE COME!!" I'm hoping it'll be the same way in Feb. We opted for a flight that would get us to MCO around 2pm instead of 10am to save $400 on plane tickets so our original plans of 'relaxing for a couple hours then head to the park' gets kind of squished. At least MK has EMH that night so I'm really hoping to head in and even just check out FLE if nothing else. My grampa's also thinking about renting a condo in the area this winter if he can find doctors/etc so we're hoping to work in seeing him during that first night, too. Check in around 4pm, visit, still make it to the parks around 7pm, maybe?

Not sure if this should be posted to this board, but sense our trip is in Feb I will give it a shot. I have booked under the special in Feb with the dining plan, we have 5 in our party, 4 adults and 1 child 12. I have also booked 2 rooms, so we would have plenty of room and everyone would have a bed. I did request ground floor, 1 disabled and will have a scooter, stated that did not need wheelchair accessible shower as long as the shower had handicap rails. Made all my ADR's.

Now my question..... it has come up that I may have one additional guest, but will not know for awhile, so I can't change things till the last minute. Will I have to pay full price or the discount for the additional person.. child 12yrs, There would be no need of any other room, just an additional person.. What about ADR's, do they allow adding 1 more at the last minute? Because this involves a custody issue, things will not be settled till last minute, but hopefully will be settled before.

Any help or thoughts would be welcome.

I recommend changing your ADRs now. There's no fee if your one person short unless its a meal you pay for up front. As for the room/tickets I've not heard good things about pricing from those who have added someone but I have not done so myself. Good luck!

OP, I agree with the PP to add the extra person to your ADRs now for the same reasons as mentioned.

It sounds like you booked under the stay, play & dine offer. I'd check with whoever you booked through, WDW reservations or TA, explain your situation and see what answer they give you. Since you already have 2 rooms booked and your possible add on guest is 12 years old there will not be any extra cost for the rooms but of course they would need to be on the dining plan and have the park tickets, same as the rest of your party. Hopefully, some Disney magic can be spread and adding the second 12 year-old could be done at the same discounted rate as the rest of the others. pixiedust:

Thanks to all for the input. I will try to change the ADR's and make a few phone calls tomorrow. With all the planning I hate to be left in limbo, but sometimes things are out of our control.

So here's a new question:

Do you use a check list when packing? And what is the one item you can't travel without?

I already have some clothes put aside and I'll probably start packing in January! so no check list for me. What we forget, we can buy. for me the one item i definitely need is snacks for the plane!

I do have a checklist, but most of the things are already in our "Disney" box. One of the must haves in and extension cord and surge protectors.

This is my first time responding on the boards. My family (DH, 12 year ol DS and 8 year old DS) will be staying at POFQ from Feb 22 - March 2. We will be celebrating my 8 year old's Birthday on the 22nd when we arrive. We have dinner ADR's at:

T-Rex (8 year olds pick for his B-Day)
Ohana
Via Napoli
Sci Fi
Liberty Tree Tavern
50's Prime Time Cafe
Biergarten
Crystal Palace

Cannot wait. This will be my 10th trip to Disney World but the first time for the Dining Plan. This is also our first time staying at anything other than a value resort - except for our Honeymoon when we stayed only 1 night at the Wilderness Lodge. I just hope the weather will be ok when we go. It's supposed to be a colder winter than usual in the south but being from Michigan, it will be a lot warmer there than here.

Just got done making all of our ADRs for our upcoming trip to POFQ. Here's what we have, and let me know if I should change something:

2/1/13 Arrival. Dinner at House of Blues, Downtown Disney
2/2/13 Hollywood Studios Fantasmic! package at Hollywood and Vine
2/3/13 Magic Kingdom The Crystal Palace for breakfast (my DGD loves Pooh)
2/4/13 Relax Day Dinner at Boatwright's POR
2/5/13 Water Park Dinner at The Coral Reef Restaurant, Epcot
2/6/13 US/IOA Breakfast at Chef Mickey's, Contemporary Resort
2/7/13 Epcot, dinner at Biergarten Restaurant
2/8/13 Animal Kingdom, breakfast at Tusker House
2/9/13 Check out and leave my happy place :(

So, how did I do? Any suggestions on changes? We do so many character meals because the DGD has to see Pooh, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. ;)

We will be at POFQ for most of that time. We are going 1/28-2/7. This will be our first time at POFQ.

Terri

This is our first time at POFQ also. We've always done the Value resorts, but I got a pin offer that was too good to pass up. :goodvibes Maybe our families will bump into each other while we're there. :cool2:

Count us in for February 3rd-10th. Staying at POFQ.
It's our first time at WDW, so any help will be appreciated.

Looks like we're going to be at POFQ at the same time. We're staying 2/1-2/9. :) This is only my 2nd trip to what I call New Disney. The last time I went before was in 1981. If you have any questions, I can try to help with the basics, but the really involved stuff you may have to ask elsewhere on the boards. I'm still learning the Disney ropes myself.

Wow I loved the Wilderness Lodge, stayed there for a week on 25th Anniversary. Wish this time we could of gotten into the POR, but it was all booked, so will have to settle for the value Sports, but booked 2 rooms. Hopefully I am not making a mistake, but plan to not be in the rooms but to sleep.

Just to let everyone know I contacted Disney about adding a child to our package. Well what all of you suggested on ADR's was what was suggested, add him now and can always take him off. About the room, no additional charge but I was not quoted the same price for adding him to the tickets or the dining plan... looks like it will be full price.

I always have a check list. I've already started mine. LOL I pack for myself, DD18, and DGD2. I especially need the list for DGD. If I don't write it down, it won't make the suitcase. My must have is a small fan. I have to have the air circulating in the room so I can sleep. =)
