What's the very first thing you do after checking-in? A stroll around the resort? Hop into a bus and off to the parks? Check out DTD? Lie down and sleep for an early start?

We won't be at check in before 8pm. So maybe we will go to down town disney or we will just stay in our room and be early at the park the next morning.

I'll be checking out the resort and early to bed for an early MK day!!

We will be checking in, then off to a late dinner at Cape May. Back to the resort for a good nights sleep, then off to Epcot. Building up to MK for the grand daughter. Leaving her in suspense for a couple of days.

It depends on which resort I'm staying at. We usually unpack and unwind. We usually have an ADR at the resort (if staying Deluxe), so we go down a little early and explore the resort a little. Then go have dinner. And explore some more after dinner. This year we are staying value, so I'm thinking we may head to DTD.

Yes I am across the river from New Orleans.

Awesome! I hope you faired well after Isaac. We will be down in NOLA next weekend for the Saints game. Hoping it will go better than Monday night. Oh well- I'm a true Who Dat & I'll support them through good and bad. Apparently this year may be bad......

I was a firm believer in not going to a park on my first day. My plans were to check in and go to DTD, have lunch and browse the stores for a whille then leave and get ready for our Narcoossee's reservation.

BUT (there is always a but!), we arrive on a Wednesday around 11AM and easyWDW has MK as a recommended day. I'm debating if maybe we should just go to MK for a few hours and take the boat to Grand Floridian in time to our ADR.

My mom has never gone to the WDW and I thought this could show her how magical Disney can truly be.

This past January was our first time staying on property, so I really wasn't quite sure what to do. I was a bit overwhelmed, especially after having a flight delayed by 2 hours and instead of getting to the WL at 2, we got there at 4. Got checked in, met my parents who got there about an hour before us, figured out the lay of the land, and then thought about getting something to eat. Then, realized I was in WDW and was a mere boat ride away from MK, which had EMH's! :yay:

So we road the boat over around 6pm and took full advantage of EMHs at MK on our first night. There is something about walking up Main Street to that Castle that really says that you are at WDW! DS got to see his first view of Wishes and DH and I got to ride Space Mountain and POTC.

For our February trip, we are trying to fit both Epcot and MK in on our arrival day. No ADR's made, and we'll see what the day has in store for us. Our flight should allow us to get to WL at 11am. MK still has EMH's on our arrival day.

I'm not sure what we'll do our first day. DH and I arrive about 2pm, so we'll go check in off site, maybe grocery store. then we pick up my sister and BIL at 5. We'll be on Mountain time. Part of me wants to do a nice dinner, part of me wants to watch the Superbowl somewhere, part of me wants to do mini golf, part of me wants to explore....Apparently im in charge of plans so i feel all this pressure to have a great first day there!!

We faired pretty well, still have a little bit of repairs to do, the worse was being without power for 6 days.

Yeah I think those Saints need a little help this year, but oh well still support them also. Had a rough year so far, but hoping for a comeback soon.

We have always gone straight into one of the parks as soon as we are done checking in, since we usually take a very early flight in the morning.

This February we hope to be all checked in and ready to meet our daughter and her family in MK for lunch. That night we are eating at Ohana's then taking the monorail to Epcot. We don't want to waste a minute of fun. :)

We usually arrive at MCO around 3 pm so by the time ME delivers us to our resort and we're settled into our room it is about time to head in the direction of our ADR, normally at another resort. We don't go to any parks on our first day and turn in early to be ready for an early start our first full day at WDW.

We have a 9 hr. drive and start the trip down at around 2-3 a.m. Everybody, but me, sleeps on the way down so when we arrive at around 1 p.m. to Bay Lake Tower we check in and get settled in the room (pending we get a room right away). Either way, we are off to DTD for lunch (probably Earl of Sandwich) and a 6 p.m. reservation at Rainforest Cafe and, of course, shopping for my wife and mother-in-law. When fatigue from early morning driving has sent in and I have had enough at DTD I usually take the kids that want to go back to the room with me and leave the women to "shop till they drop". However, since our resort is so close to the Magic Kingdom, that could all change depending on the kids reactions.:)

Officially coming February 23 - March 4 :dance3:

Last February trip was great - weather, lines, crowds... fingers crossed for a repeat :thumbsup2
