*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Will be there February 19-24 a brief trip but combining Disney and seeing my favorite musical, Wicked!!
Thanks for letting me know about Wicked being shown in Orlando in February! I saw it once in NY and I fell in love with it.

I need tickets for this!

ETA: I bought two! OMG, I'm so excited! THANK YOU so much, I even thought about going to NYC to see this show again, it didn't even cross my mind to see if I could see it in Orlando. I hope these tickets arrive safe and sound at POFQ.

I love the musical Wicked as well. I have seen it 6 times I think in London (UK)

Not sure if there is a post within this thread or not....but based on the "layering" suggestions and the multiple mentions of unpredictable weather in February, I need help planning our packing strategy! (always gone in Sept).

What's a typical February suitcase going to have? Since it's too early to pack for real, thought it would be fun to pretend here! I mean....I'm just sitting here in Northeast PA waiting for the storm :scared1: anyway, so I might as well imagine I'm packing for Florida! LOL

Watch the weather forecasts starting about ten days ahead of time. The closer to the day you are leaving, the more accurate it will be. Jeans or similar pants will be good enough for the coolest weather. Bring shorts because you should be able to wear those. Bathing suit is a must. A sweatshirt or sweater or similar will be necessary, most likely. And depending on the forecast you may be bringing down a winter jacket. Watching fireworks at night can be rather chilly at 55 degrees.

We have also had glorious warm 80 degree weather in February. So it all depends on what is happening at that time.

We always wear our winter coat and jeans on the plane. That way we have it if we need it. I used to wear a light weight coat on the plane until the dreaded January trip where I froze to death and ended up wearing the same sweater and long sleeved shirt every day because it was the only ones I brought. But the end of February should be warmer than January.

i swear, if i wasn't going in 96 days i'd consider jumping off a bridge. i just started a job two weeks ago that i hate and i want to quit so bad but i need the money for the trip lol it's all that keeps me going these days.

I volunteered to work all weekend just for my Feb trip! Hang in there! We can do this! :)

:wave2: Hi all! I'm joining in! We had a trip booked for December 2012 but had to postpone it due to family health reasons. So we pushed it back to February! We'll be staying at Pop February 24-March 4! Very excited & so happy we just rescheduled & didn't have to cancel!

We'll be Hourglass Lake neighbors! My clan's staying at AoA that week, too.

Was there at Wilderness 10 years ago, just got out the pictures. Shorts and tees one day and layered 3 shirts and a light weight jacket the next. Will pack for layers again this year. Wish we could stay at the Wildereness again this year, but will have to settle for the Sports (paying for 5 this year) But at least we will be out of town for Mardi Gras this year. Will be a welcome change.

I totally relate to this. If it weren't for Disney vacations and wanting my kids to stay in private school I'd quit in a heartbeat. I hate my job. I'm grateful that I have one when so many are looking and can't find one but I just hate it. I go through everyday biting my tongue.

just keep thinking that that extra $$ will be worth it! i took on a second job too, a month ago. i worked 18 days in a row and got sick, ugh. but the more I work the more i can spend!! you can do it!

What part of NEPA? i grew up in in the Poconos, moved out to Colorado 3 years ago.
Love the comment that it could be cold at night in Disney, lows around 55. that'll be warm for me!!! hehe:goodvibes

It's the double digit dance with an added bonus

Not only we're at 99 days out but I just booked a 3 day stay at the Contemporary using the R.O discount. We'll spend the last two nights at Disney AND use ME to go to the airport which is AWESOME! And hey, I'm even saving on the taxi ride to the airport!

Melissa, you can do it!! i dont like my 2nd job (luckily i like my 1st job, and even lucky that i even have 2 jobs!) but im saving up right now to by our tickets, then saving for a day at Discovery Cove. 96 days for me, I think. :yay:

We've never been that early in the year & we've never stayed at Pop so we're excited. I'm back in the triple digit wait but that's ok, we're still going to Disney!

February's honestly not so bad. The lines usually aren't too long and the weather's pretty nice ...as long as you remember a jacket and pair of jeans, just in case. No one else in my family has ever stayed on Disney before so it's going to be fun watching their reactions to everything.

And don't give up, melissarose! Bad jobs are horrible but it makes the vacation all the more rewarding to get away from it. :cool2:
