Happy to read about this thread on the other thread. I just got back for the opening of the new Villas at the Grand Californian (DVC). I have posted sorta a trip report about the news villas with lots of pics of our room. if interested here is the link:

This trip was to explore the Villas , not a park trip. We are going back on Sunday for the Halloween Time decor.

Update - we're adding a day and a ToT party. We are now Oct. 12 - 17 HoJo Kids Suite, ToT on the 15th. Those deals for GCH are tough to pass up, but we are looking forward to the kids having their own room.

Oh, and thanks to fairykin for keeping this up to date!

Wasn't though! That was room 5502 and is located in the middle of the rooms that face DCA side. I will be lucky if I get that again!
I will request for a room above the fourth floor for now on.

i just got through with back to back weekend stays at the Grand.. and honestly.. i liked the beds and bedding better at the Holiday Inn on South Walnut.

Well that's not good! Not a surprise, but still...


I can't believe our trip is so soon. What's making it weirder is that hubby has been away, off on the far side of the planet...he's been gone since the 18th and comes home late on Tuesday...and from then it's just a bit over a week and we'll be off! My brain's calendar has way too many countdowns going.


I was so bummed to see the days that the party is held, b/c we come in on Sat and leave on Tues...we totally miss out on them.

I also have some minor changes to our stay - Now Oct.30th - Nov. 14th @ VGC, ToT 31st.

Real quick to VallCopen - the LGMHs (Lime Green Mickey Heads) are attached to bags/printed on T-shirts/displayed in windows/etc to identify DISers to each other. The traditional LGMH is found at Home Depot as paint color samples

This segways nicely into what fairykin was talking about - I have some designs that I've put together, including a custom LGMH:

And also some custom T-Shirt designs for our Halloween trip:

You are awesome!!! Thank YOU! I like Meg's attitude too, and I like that she and Herc aren't as "common" as other Disney couples can be. I'd love to be Jack & Sally or Aurora and Philip but I think those are too overplayed.

Glad to spread the DISney magic - do your kids have a nickname for your mom? That's what we put on our mom's shirts, one was Nana and the other was Grandma Dollface

Dawn, that costume is soooooooo pretty!!!!! I'll post a pic when I can, I'll have my costume by tomorrow! YAY!!! I just need to figure out the gold buttons she has on her dress....but I think I might just take old Disney buttons (we have extras of them all) and spray paint them gold, that should work! I also need to get material for a sash and a hair tie.
