This will be our (family of four) first time staying at a Disney resort. I would like to know which resorts have the best transportation system, for example the monorail and boats. We are very excited and want to have a great time!

First off:welcome:

Now, the best resorts for transportation are the MK resorts-Grand Floridian, Poly and Contemporary. All of these have monorail and boat transportation to the MK. You can also switch monorails at the ticket/transportation center to go to Epcot. I like Poly the best because you can walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. You can also ride the ferry boat to the MK from there if you choose.

The Epcot hotels-Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club are within walking distance to Epcot. I think there is also boat transportation to MGM, but someone who has stayed there can answer that better than I.

Wilderness Lodge is all busses, except for they have a boat to the MK.

Port Orleans is the only moderate with boat transportation and that is to Downtown Disney.

AKL, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, All Stars and Pop Century are all bus transportation.

Hope this helps!:)

GF and the Poly have both monorail and boat transportation to MK. At GF you can take the monorail over the to Transportation & Ticket Center and switch to the EPCOT monorail. Poly you can either take the monorail over and switch at the T&TC or walk to the Transportation Center and catch the EPCOT monorail.

Contemporary you can walk or monorail to MK and take the monorail to the T&TC and switch to the EPCOT monorail.

WL (less expensive deluxe) has the boat to MK, but no monorail.

EPCOT Resorts -

Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk have either the boat or walkway to EPCOT and the boat to MGM.

Hope this helps!

I would say the "best transportation" would depend on the parks you intend to visit most often.

Everyone has to take a bus to AK. THe ride from AKL is pretty short, though.

Epcot resorts offer a walk to Epcot, boat/walk to MGM, and buses to MK.

MK resorts offer a monorail to MK, monorail to the TTC to catch another monorail to Epcot, and buses to MGM. Contemporary does offer the option of walking to MK and the Poly allows you to walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail.

WL has a boat to MK and buses everywhere else.

The moderates and values use all buses to the theme parks, but some have their own buses, which may make them less crowded. Both Port Orleans resorts offer a boat to DTD. So does Saratoga Springs. The other resorts on property would offer a bus to DTD.
