New MyMagic+ 'Memory Maker' photography package begins Friday

OK my turn for a question since I am just sooo confused :confused3 I purchased the PP+ for our trip next Sept. So I will have to return it now? If I wait to trade it in when we get there then I cant take pictures till day 3 of our trip?

I'm wondering about this, too. Our trip seven days. If we can't take photos for half of it, what's the point? I'll see what I can dig up on the website, but Disney's habit of changing the rules every few weeks is starting to really tick me off. Who knows if what's true now will hold in late January?

We have been using memory maker since Tuesday and it's been great :)

All my photos have showed up instantly and I have been able to view them no problems.

My band, my husbands ans my dd's all work no problems and you also get a card that I was told if I use (I haven't') to ensure that the PP photographer scans the chip on the front and not the QR code on the back - I've cut down a Mickey sticker and stuck it over the qr on the back so that can never happen.

We purchased it on Friday, went to will call on Monday and took pictures with it from Tuesday. MUST go to will call NOT photo pass desk to collect - we made that mistake and NO ONE had a clue how or what to do at the desk. A manager from guest relations came over and sorted it out but stated we should have gone to will call which to be fair is what the email says!

Any questions I'll try and help :)

They will still honor your PP+ voucher. You will have PP+ and not Memory Maker though unless you send PP+ back and purchase MM which you would need to do very soon.

I decided it wouldn't be worth it to exchange this close to my trip. If I was going in a few weeks and had time to get my money back, then I would consider doing that. But at the time I purchased PP+, it was good enough to put forth the money, so I'm sticking with my original product purchase.

Thank you - that's what I thought after I found a link to the "our products" portion of the site. It said the voucher would be honored. I'll call the number listed to find out how I could exchange things. My main worry is that, because they're phasing out PP+, there will be some sort of glitch and I'll have problems finding my photos as so many people reported in October. I have no faith whatsoever in Disney's IT department.

So if I have this straight...I can add it to my reservation. If I am traveling with my parents in a linked reservation (I have friended them) then will all the pictures of DH, DDs and I should be on there bc we are in one room, but if my parents take photos with the girls or alone will they end up on there for download? Also do I have to be there or how would they take photos if I am not there?

Literally just got off of the phone asking a similar question. I was told that on the My Disney Experience page, go to the paperclip thing that says "Link Reservations" Then go to Memory Maker, she said you can add UNLIMITED magic bands or PP card #'s to this site to include in your package. However, only the one that purchased the package has the entitlement (meaning they own it and have the passwords, etc.) Then all pictures taken that have that PP# or Magic Band # attached will upload to this account. Then you could give out the information to the rest of your family for them to download as well, as in there are unlimited downloads. That is if I understood everything correctly :-)

I just have a general question about PP+....do I need to bring the CD that was sent or just the voucher to Disney when we go? What is on the CD. Also do they just mail my CD to me or do I have to order it, or do I get it before I leave? I guess that was several questions, but I am very confused. I would rather the MM, but don't have enough time between now and Jan 5th to get a refund to purchase MM and can't afford to buy it again and wait for a refund.

1- do I need to bring the CD that was sent or just the voucher to Disney when we go?
2- What is on the CD.

I hope I can help! :)

1- Just bring the voucher. The CD isn't necessary.
2- The CD has stock photos of Disney on it. It's really good for scrapbooking but as far as I can tell bit much else.
3- Once you return from vacation, you can order your CD (or CDs) of vacation photos online. You will need the code that can be found inside the CD of stock photos for the price to be taken off.

So I am gathering the Memory Maker is very similar to the PhotoPass+?

The price is the same according to the web page.

The only difference, from what I can tell, is that all your pictures from vacation are downloaded from the internet onto your computer as opposed to having them put on a CD and mailed to you.

Kalyn when you got you PP+ was the voucher that you take to the park to get your PP+ card inside the stock CD case or was it taped to the outside?

Mine was taped to the outside. I just pulled it off today to put it with my paperwork to go with me on the plane.

(don't buy from Ebay unless they have that voucher. You'll get ripped off!)

This doesn't work for PP+. It wants a MM number which has a different number of digits than the PP+ cards. For PP+, go to the PP+ section of MDE, then click Claim Photos. Enter the 16-digit PP+ card number here & they will appear.

I think you may still have the option of getting the CD(actually they switched to DVD not too long ago) instead of just downloads if you would like. I watched the memory maker video and at 1:08 when they scan down the webpage it still shows the option to get the DVD or to do the download.

Oh you are so on to me. I have been doing a lot of research and was just hoping there was a chance that the voucher could some how be on the inside of the case. While researching the seller I noticed he sold soooo many of them. I just thought if there was a problem he would not still be selling them any more but I have been very suspicious. I guess it was just wishfull thinking on my part. Thanks for the info.

I wonder why you cant them on a CD anymore? Downloading is faster, but I love having a back up disc.

You can get a CD. You just have to pay extra for it. I think someone earlier in the thread said it was $30

That is crappy.... oh well we loved all the photos we got on our trip.

We plan to do it again on our next visit.

Can someone tell me what restaurants the photographers are at for memory makers? I saw a list somewhere for the PP+ and I'm guessing its the same, but can't find the info now when I'm looking for it.

Sorry, I had an early night last night! :( The voucher was taped to the outside.
