***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

When can i start making fast pass reservations my vacation is not until Aug 15 of 2014 when can i start

Just a couple of questions... 1. I plan to go for F&W next year so I'm thinking, *hoping* that everything will be totally rolled out and that I'll know exactly where we're at in regards to FP. My question is, just in case: how are those of you who are testing MB getting FP+ AND FP- tix? With the presence of MB don't you then not have paper tix? Isn't this the very reason for MB? 2. Has anyone linked photopass yet? How is that working out? 3. Where are the viewing spots for FP+ parades and nighttime entertainment in both MK and HS? 4. Theoretically (I understand a lot is still unknown), should I be ready jump on a computer at exactly such and such time on the day my FP+ ressies are available like with dining? Will there be a number to call to do it, also? And finally, 5. If we choose NOT to go the MB route and NOT participate in the FP+ experience we can do that, right? And we would be issued the key cards and everything would be linked to it, etc, just like it is now save the FP+ stuff...yes? Thanks to anyone willing to give some insight! It's much appreciated.
The answer to your first question (I just got back from doing this a few days ago) is that you book FP+ on MDE and use your MB to check in for them, and you use your key to the world card that will be issued to you even though you have MBs to get the traditional FP. I think this also answers your 5th question?
I don't know the answers to 2 or 3 because I didn't do either.
For your 4th question, I was able to change times and there was availability to do so in the week before we left, so I don't think that it is as urgent as the ADRs. Also, I know that you can make the reservations through the MDE app on your smart phone or on the full website. Didn't look into calling though.

Just wanted to relate a couple of our experiences using MBs and FP+. At MK Splash was down when we showed up for our FP+. The CM's weren't sure what would happen; suggested we come back when it was up and running. Well, I tried to change the time on my MDE account while there, and to my surprise, it had automatically issued new FP+'s to me and my husband! Me for the speedway and DH for something else!

I went right back to the CM's at splash and showed them my phone. They were as confused as we were. They told us where to find the FP+ kiosk in Adventureland to straighten things out. (We tried to change these selections on our phones, but the app said we had used all our FP+ for the day!) Then they quietly gave us a rider swap pass so we could come back and ride later that day. They had no confidence in the system "letting" us use our FP+ later.

So after a bit of wandering, we found the FP+ station and the CM there scanned our bands and showed us that the system knew splash was down so we could basically ride any other FP+ ride in the park. He told us to take a picture of the computer screen so we would know our choices. We ended up using them at Voyage of the Little Mermaid (a waste, I know). But we were stopped at the FP entrance when our bands turned blue, not green and had to explain the whole saga to the CM and offer to show her the screenshot. They overrode the computer and let us in line.

The other glitch was at Epcot. I had changed one of our FP+ times earlier in the morning because I knew we would be arriving later. It never showed up in the "home" FP+ screen. But when I tried to change it, it showed up in the "do you really want to change this" screen. It was for TT and I had to show all the screens to the CMs who said the system was glitchy and eventually did let us in line. The FP line was so long we should have done single rider!

Just letting you all know its not entirely smooth sailing.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Maybe I shouldn't get too attached to our FP+ plan. Good reminder to be flexible and be ready to go with the flow.

Soooo frustrated.

I'm sorry if this issue has been posted before but I have (admittedly) not read through all the pages in this thread (scanned the links on the 1st post).

I have 2 non-expiring tickets that were purchased through Mapleleaf (similar to UT) prior to 10/2011, these have a few days left.

Trying to link my passes----I selected the screen that matches with what my tickets look like, and input the relevant info (code, date, ticket # & security key code). Nothing. I know I put it in right, and I even tried to scan the ticket with the app on my phone.

Has anyone had this issue? How does calling solve the problem? It's too late to call now, but we were going to buy new tickets anyway (these ones have a few days left). If it's too complicated I might as well wait for the new tickets to arrive.

Thanks!

You are too early. You can't customize magicbands until at least 60 days, and perhaps even less - depends when they activate the reservations at this point.

Once they do, THEN you can customize. And to make FP+ reservations in advance, you WILL need a ticket associated with your account.

It is *not* you! It is a straightforward system, but Disney isn't putting any straightforward information out there ... there is lots of speculation involved right now. You definitely have to have some type of ticket linked to your reservation before you can use the FP+ selections, though.

I think (my opinion) that once they officially roll it out and stop calling it a test, they will have set times that each thing happens and they will have that information on the website. Until then, it isn't the same for everyone, so there are no "right" answers.

Example: I'm checking in on Dec 8 and was able to do online check-in at exactly 60 days out, but nothing else. Then around 11 pm last night, most everyone with December check-in dates was suddenly able to access FP+ selections, and those within 60 days were able to customize magicbands. So for me, that part happened at 53 days, but for someone checking in on Dec 1, it would have been 43 days, and so on.

Just roll with it and check the DIS Boards and your MDE site daily, and one day it'll happen!

Thank you both - this has helped me a lot!

Well the magic band is working ok to get in my room, the parks, and access fastpass+ attractions. It is working well for photopass. But it isn't streamlining my need to carry cards.

I still need photo Id, my DVC card, a separate photo attractions + card, tables in wonderland, and credit cards (because we have multiple people sharing a 2 bedroom villa). I have to carry a whole stack of food and wine seminar paper tickets (even though they show up on my account with reservation numbers). And I have to carry a backup RFID card just in case.

I don't recall them ever saying that the MB would eliminate or reduce the number of cards you need to carry... ;)

Of course, it should...

Well...it is designed to get me to spend more money, and that s NOT happening. :thumbsup2.

I may be losing the money war with Disney overall, but at least I am ahead on that battle. ;)

It actually did reduce the number of cards we needed to carry. By the end of our trip we were down to photo IDs for adults, an annual pass for discounts. In reality we also brought key to the world for FP-.

We just got back and overall our MB/FP+ experience was positive. Biggest benefit was that I didn't feel rushed to get to the parks at rope drop to ride and/or get paper FPs for TSM, Soarin', etc. I did notice that by 10:15 or so all the FP- for Soarin', TT, and TSM were distributed for the day. I did not experience the long FP lines that some people have reported, so I didn't see FP+ having any impact in that respect.

First use of our MBs was at the airport for ME. Worked perfectly.

I did online resort check in, but it still took over 30 minutes for us to check in upon arrival. CMs don't seem to know the new system very well. I also setup the PIN for my MB online, but I had to do it again at the resort. So that didn't work very well. Had no issues using the MB to enter our room.

KTTW card worked for pulling FP-. We used FP- twice on our first day at MK, but didn't really need the second one, since the standby line was only 10 minutes. I tried an old KTTW card from last January just to see if it would work and I got the message that the card wasn't used to enter the park. I don't know if it would have worked elsewhere, since I just tried it once. We didn't use any other FP-. The parks were fairly crowded, but we still found we didn't really need them. Received no comments from CMs about using FP- even though our MBs were clearly visible. Every CM we encountered was very pleasant.

We charged every purchased using the MB and it went off without a hitch. This was really convenient.

Had no issues using any of our pre-selected FP+. I did attempt to use the app to see what FP+ were available, but the app is terrible. The performance is abysmal and about half the time it timed out trying to connect and gave me an error message. It works a little better just for checking wait times, rather than viewing "My Plans", but occasionally it brings up the list of attractions, but the wait times are missing. I turned GPS on for my phone, but the MDE "Here & Now" option never worked. I used it last January and it worked, so not sure what the issue was.

We had FP+ for Fantasmic. We arrived early anyway, since we were tired and wanted to sit down, but the FP+ section was not full when the performance started. There was no CM stationed at the section that was roped off for FP+, so we just entered. We met a CM coming up the steps and we just showed her our wristbands as she passed by. Nobody checked to see if we actually had FP+. There was a large family sitting next to us and none of them were wearing MBs.

Our ME documents were not delivered to our room and I had to go down to the front desk on our departure day and have them printed. I was on the lookout for this since a friend of mine was at WDW last week and had the same problem. I've used ME many, many times and never had this happen before, so maybe it's related to the new system. :confused3

We used the BOG lunch FP+. I think some people have reported issues with their name not being on the reservation list, but mine was there, even though I did not receive the invitation. I pre-ordered and they told us they could see that I had pre-ordered but couldn't see the order and sent me to talk to someone inside. He couldn't see our order either and sent us on to the kiosks, where I scanned my MB and our order popped up. YAY! Even with the little glitch, it was less than 5 minutes from the time we checked in until we were seated at our table. The CMs told us that the furniture was talking to me (since I was the one who scanned my MB), but it was so noisy inside, I couldn't hear it. Overall, I give the FP+ and pre-order a thumbs up.

I have tried several times to use FP+ for BOG QS but I click the request now button an it takes me to the manage your fast pass page and even if I try to change an experience for it it's not an option. Do you have to receive a special invite for this? What am I missing?

Did you use this link: https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com/

I didn't have an invitation and I was able to get a FP+. I tried the website just now and I was still able to get a FP+, even though my package ended yesterday. I selected a day next week and was even able to pre-order the meal. Then I cancelled it. :)

I have all my FP+ and reservations set and can see in MDE. I have made notes each day regarding what park I want.to start with and when I need to leave. I notice regardless if the time on the notes they always show at the bottom. Is there anyway to change this? I know I'm super anal but if I have a note for 7am, I want it to be at the top before my afternoon FP+s....you know in chronological order.

I can't use this link :( is the reservation number the resort package number?

The package number won't work. It's the resort reservation number, which doesn't include any letters. I didn't know which number to enter either, until I read this thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3149450

I don't remember exactly where the reservation number was, but it was somewhere on MDE or in the reservation email, and once I knew to look for something that was all numeric I had no trouble finding it.

Has anyone successfully separated friends from their MDE account? I have "friends" going during the same time frame as myself and I made all of their dining and fastpass+ reservations so they are under my friends list.
Should I call IT and try to separate them or just invite them to my account?

I just invite them..
