New Monorail hours- too soon to adjust plans?

You may surprise yourself by how pleasant this walk really is. We go in August (except this year:headache:) and it is not an uncomfortable walk.

The walk to and from the MK is super easy for anyone of normal fitness. We always go in summer and the walk is fine. Especially before rope drop, it is very pleasant. We never use the monorail for CR-MK and reverse unless it is a just for fun trip. We do like the monorail for going to the other resorts for meals and Epcot, so that is where this change is going to hurt us in the mornings.

Yes. My sister and I (fifty-ish) did when the monorail was down last summer--late July. It's not bad at all. We were happy to be "forced" to try it. We used the walkway a few more times after that to and from the MK.

Hot and sweaty in the Florida summer heat?
No, never. ;-)

Good to know. And :rotfl: on the "hot and sweaty in the Florida summer heat, no, never". We go pretty much every August so we're used to existing in a constant state of hot and sweaty. I usually like to at least get a ride or two in before we get to an unseemly amount of sweating. ;) I think we'll give it a go at least one morning and see how it works. I do plan to change one of our morning ADRs at the Poly though, it's just not going to work out well.

I too am worried about this change. I will be in WDW 7/1-11 and staying primarily at BLT. This won't impact our transportation to MK but I am certainly worried about EC. As PPs have mentioned...one of the major factors of staying on the Monorail line is to use it. If I can't make rope drop or an ADR that will be a shame.

I hope many of you post your experiences on here so everyone can get an idea for how much of a hassle or not it is.

Should rent a :moped:
