New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Nothing too major going on here. Either I've caught my daughter's stomach bug or the morning sickness has officially begun. I'm actually happy that it's here. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at almost 8 weeks (baby was measuring behind at about 7 weeks, low heartrate) and I got hardly any symptoms. I'll be sick every day if that's what it takes this time around!

Only 1 more week until my first ultrasound and I'm really nervous/excited. Hoping to see a very strong heartbeat then my mind will be at ease.

Don't worry if you don't feel too sick. I didn't get very strong morning sickness, and I'm still chugging along at 17 weeks and everything's looked good for me so far. (Just lucky, I guess.) But that first ultrasound helps a lot!

I'm trying not to worry too much. With my daughter I was sick CONSTANTLY. Seriously thought I was going to die if I kept throwing up. So having morning sickness for me is almost a relief because it makes me feel like everything will be ok, KWIM? You are very lucky not to have any! :thumbsup2

I went for my 38 wk appt. First had an ultrasound to check his weight, etc. He is weighing in at 7lbs 4 oz (which was my weight when I was born) and his head is in the 98th percentile:scared1: which freaks me out a bit. He has long legs, big head and big feet...none at all suprising since DH family is really tall. Dr does not seem concerned about his size....they are still going with a due date of 9-25 as of now.
He does have me going twice weekly since my blood pressure is slightly elevated and he has been on medication now but said as of now no reason to take me off work (desk job anyways) just to limit sodium (which is very hard by the way---its in everything) and to keep my feet elevated since they have been swelling...though they are better since it has cooled down some.
So here's hoping that he does not get too much bigger.

My doctor told me when I was really sick that when you are sick...the healthier the baby...so here's hoping that you have morning sickness and to a healthy baby.

Ok, seriously people. What is going on with all the boys?!? There is way too much testosterone on this list! Let's get some ovaries on there!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We had our 1st Trimester Screening test today. We're waiting for the blood test results but we could see the nasal cavity (yeah!!) and the thickness of the neck was 1.8 (2.5 or higher tends towards Down Syndrome), so yeah again!!

Congrats on a great test!

I do have a cervix test to do in 3 weeks and another test in 5 weeks. I can't keep track of them all already. Oh, and my doc wants me to do an early Glucose test.

Do you have problems with your cervix too? I hope everything goes well.
It's A Boy!!!

We went to the doctor on Tuesday and there is no mistaking that the baby is a boy.:rotfl2:

Welcome to the "Boy's Club"! Congrats on baby boy!

Woot! Another for the blue team. I find out what my little bun's going to be in a few weeks. We're low on pink!
Yes! Let's get some pink on that list!

We went for a tour of my company's daycare facility yesterday. What a nice place. Three floors of classrooms, a lactation room, they go all the way through kindergarten, and there's a playground on the top floor. Fantastic! :woohoo:

Sounds great! How nice your baby will be so close!

I always felt that way too. As horrible as it was, I always knew it was a good sign for me (I also had 2 m/c, this is my 6th pregnancy:scared1: ). Good luck next week with your u/s!

Glad to hear it is all going well. Don't worry about the head size...both of my boys had very (very) large heads (one even came out with their hand next to their head :headache: ). It's amazing what the body can do --- and then go back to normal. You are getting so close now. Take this time to go out to dinner with DH one last time with just the two of you!

Well I hope it's not as bad this time, but just bad enough to make you feel relieved! ;)

I did feel very queasy sometimes, especially if I ate too much/too fast or had a totally empty stomach. I had no appetite and had to make myself eat (and now I'm eating like a horse). I wasn't nearly as bad as some poor ladies, though. My biggest symptom early on was fatigue! :faint:

My sister had a miscarriage with her first pregnancy, and that experience was always on my thoughts, thinking, "If it happened to my sister, it will happen to me." So seeing that first ultrasound at 11 weeks, with growth right on time and a good heartbeat, that was a big weight off me. I hope your u/s will make you feel that way, too. :)

Hey Jennifer! You still hanging in there?:goodvibes

Here I am...

The nurses at the office today all said "we didn't think we'd see you back here". Well you know what ladies, ME EITHER!!!!

Doc examined me and no change from last week. She pratically begged me to do nothing but sit around this weekend as she didn't want me to deliver with the other doctors on call this weekend (different practice). So here I sit on the couch, but I do have to throw dinner in the crock pot... maybe I'll save it for dinner tomorrow and DH can fix it.

I have another appointment on Tuesday so hopefully Wednesday will be the day. If not, I just may have to go into triage on Wednesday and she'll examine me and OOPS, my water just broke... I think I'm at the point where I'll say or do anything to get him out next week.

Any suggestions for making my BP go up, other than jogging....??

Ok...I'm really bad at abbreviations...what is BP??

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You can do it! You're almost there.

My sister went to her chiropractor who rubbed a certain spot on her foot or ankle. She was in labor that night. You could always go for a massage and tell them to work on your feet and ankles!

Big ultrasound today, and.....

It's a girl!!!!:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

She looked absolutely perfect, is currently weighing in at 14oz., and was not shy at all about showing the goods! We are truly, madly, deeply in love and over the moon. DD only talked about her baby sister ever since we told her we were expecting, and she is going to be SO excited. :cloud9:

Hooray! Another for the pink team!!! princess:

BP---Blood Pressure

THats what I thought it meant but was not sure...why do you want BP to go up?? Is it supposed to help labor happen?? If that is the case....my doc has told me to keep my feet up and limit sodium to help elevate BP (he now put me on a BP medicine)...so i guess to say eat sodium and don't put your feet up...keep active.
