New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

So, coming up for air ;) . Lila is an absolute doll. I am enjoying every minute with her, even the ones in the middle of the night. She nurses like a champ, but we are now if full on stripper ta ta mode. I think my DH might try to install a pole in my bedroom :lmao: .

Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to want to sleep in her bassinet at night. She can be sound asleep and as soon as I put her in there, she starts to thrash around. If I put her in bed with me, her whole body literally relaxes in a matter of seconds. I am just too tired to fight with her, so she is spending the majority of her nights in bed with me. Oh well. I figure some day she isn't going want to even kiss her in public so I should enjoy this while I can.

My DD was exactly the same way. She'd sleep like a log in our bed or if I was holding her, but her bassinet was out of the question! After about a week of fighting it I just gave up and let her sleep with us. It did make nursing a whole lot easier! After a few months we transitioned her to her crib and now she's in her big girl bed! Do whatever is easiest for you! Congrats again... she's absolutely gorgeous!

I went to the Dr. yesterday, and my normal doc was at the hospital delivering a baby, so I saw her sister. Who was LOVELY!!! She was so excited about the twins, positively GIDDY. :lmao: I am already measuring 20 weeks. :scared1: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??????? I knew my pants were tight, but DANG. She tried for a heart beat, but it was to early.. So she looked at me, and winked... Wanna see if the ultrasound room is open??? ;) DO I??? HECK YEAH!! :rotfl2: So we got to see the babies. LOVELY!! One was jumping up and down on the other. :lovestruc So far, so good!!!

10 weeks ahead, huh? That's twins for you! LOL How sweet that you got to see them on the ultrasound!

Well, it's still a boy!:lmao: I only cried a little. She scanned by his legs and I saw his "manhood" and then she asked if I wanted to know. I said I already saw it. She must not have understood me, because she felt the need to point it out and explain it to me. :rotfl:

Baby is healthy and growing well. Cervix is shrinking though, so that means trouble again. We'll have to wait until my next appt. to discuss what steps we will take this time.:sad2:

BTW, baby was picking his nose at the end of the u/s!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sending you the very best sweetie! Hopefully you won't have any problems coming your way.

Well ladies, do your labor dance for me tonight so all the girls get their babies out tonight so I can have a bed in the morning.

I've been told to expect a call from the hospital starting at 4am until 8am. The nurse said 6am was written by my name. I am 3rd on the list for scheduled inductions and I'm praying there will be a bed for me.

I've got my parents on alert so they can rush over to take care of the kids in the morning if I get the call.

I'll try to check in here in the morning to let you what happens but if I can't you know where I'll be.;)

Good luck tomorrow Jennifer!!! Hope your delivery is smooth and painless!;) :rotfl: Keep us updated!

Congrats Dallas!

Good luck tomorrow, Jennifer!

We had our 1st Trimester Screening test today. We're waiting for the blood test results but we could see the nasal cavity (yeah!!) and the thickness of the neck was 1.8 (2.5 or higher tends towards Down Syndrome), so yeah again!!

With those 2 good results, I don't think we are going to do an amnio.

I do have a cervix test to do in 3 weeks and another test in 5 weeks. I can't keep track of them all already. Oh, and my doc wants me to do an early Glucose test.

I'm just looking forward to 8 wks -- when I can do the 20 week ultrasound!! :thumbsup2

Glad things are going well.

I had the same test last week and all looked good too. We are still doing Amnio though...that is scheduled for the 26th.

I cannot keep track of my appointments either...between the bloodwork, etc with the OB and then blood for the Endocrinologist and the Specialist, I am going nuts. I have an appointment tomorrow with the Specialist. Agh!

Hi...
:sad1: :sad2:  :sad1:
Well the news is not good. No room at the hospital. It's packed to quote the doctor. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, but I keep telling myself everything will happen as it should.

They asked me if I wanted to be rescheduled for tomorrow and I said no. Two reasons for that. 1 - It's September 11th and I don't want the little guy to have that for a birthday, and 2 - it's a different doctor. So, I have a dr appointment this Friday and am being rescheduled for next Wednesday (the actual due date). I just hope this guy isn't too big by then.

Good luck at the doc's on Friday! Don't blame you about the 9/11 birthday, either.

Been there! I know you are dissappointed, but like I said, the universe has a different plan. All will be well. Your little guy will be here soon and it will be so amazing.

good luck. and good call on the 9/11 bday. one of my best friends had her first baby on THE 9/11 and she was so mad during labor b/c she had to keep saying "having a baby here! can someone help me?" everyone was so distracted and watching the tv's on the maternity ward... she had no idea until much later what had happened!

Sorry you didn't make it in yesterday! Just remember, no "fun" with the husband today or you just MAY have a 9/11 baby!;) :rotfl:

At least you can get a little more sleep for a short time longer! Well, as much as you can get at this point!

Don't forget, if you suddenly go into labor on your own, make sure you stop what you're doing and log on to the Disboards to let us know what's going on!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It's A Boy!!!

We went to the doctor on Tuesday and there is no mistaking that the baby is a boy.:rotfl2:

Woot! Another for the blue team. I find out what my little bun's going to be in a few weeks. We're low on pink!

We went for a tour of my company's daycare facility yesterday. What a nice place. Three floors of classrooms, a lactation room, they go all the way through kindergarten, and there's a playground on the top floor. Fantastic! :woohoo:

Aww... that really stinks! I agree with you on the 9/11 birthday though. Hopefully things will happen on their own sometime before next Wednesday. Labor Dust!

Nothing too major going on here. Either I've caught my daughter's stomach bug or the morning sickness has officially begun. I'm actually happy that it's here. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at almost 8 weeks (baby was measuring behind at about 7 weeks, low heartrate) and I got hardly any symptoms. I'll be sick every day if that's what it takes this time around!

Only 1 more week until my first ultrasound and I'm really nervous/excited. Hoping to see a very strong heartbeat then my mind will be at ease.
