Hi ladies.

I had my first appt. at the clinic today - our official due date is January 30th.

I am amazed that they kept me for two hours!! for a nurse visit when I have had two previous children! Guess we should be grateful that they are very thorough

Has anyone been to Kohls? Everything is like 60% off .. and you earn $10 for every $50 you spend...I noticed that the women's clothes are cut like maternity clothes so we stocked up on summer tee's etc. Did not dare go into infants...my kids have too much! Although, if this one is a boy....

My DH is the one who suggested taking the test. He's usually a late sleep on the weekends (it was Easter Sunday), and I am an EARLY riser. I took it a little after 6 AM and woke him up. He was sooo mad b/c he couldn't go back to sleep for hours. But I couldn't help myself

As an aside, we found out that we're having a boy and a girl! Woo hoo for early ultrasounds!

I was going to ask what the other letters meant...but I get it now.

I had some items that I had bought previously when I thought I was pregnant or knew that we we would be eventually someday. I had bought him baby's first ohio state book and when I was in Paris in Oct I went to DLP and bought some baby Mickey items there(which for some reason I did not get when we were at WDW in Sept and we thought we would come home pregnant from there ) and also bought french baby books since I figured I would not get to go back for a while or ever (DH didn't go with me...I went with a friend who had to go over for work and I tagged along and DH is not too fond of France but I think he would like it if he ever agreed to go) I had all these items before I was pregnant.

When I found out I was pregnant 2 wks before valentines day, I went and bought the what to expect book and of course my digital test. I packaged all of these items up and told DH after dinner on the day I tested (I waited until after dinner because I knew DH would never eat if he knew before) that I had an early valentines day gift for him. Which he thought was odd because we do not do holidays or birthdays anymore since we would rather spend the money on the house or items for the house. I had the pregnancy test on top which clearly said pregnant. He was confused at first because he thought it was me saying that I wanted to start having kids...I said no we are going to have a baby...that is a pregnancy test!
Of course he was excited and shocked at the same time (we just didn't think it was possible that month)...but the hard part was waiting to tell our families. We wanted to wait until we had our first dr appt which was about a month later. It was hard keeping that secret for a long time(and I can't keep secrets very well )

We took my parents and my inlaws to the model home that we want to eventually build. We had kept on telling them that we wanted them to look at it before we made any final decisions. There was a room set up with a nursery and DH told them that we were going to use it as an office but I guess we will have to use it as a nursery instead. And of course our moms caught on right away.

We had been "trying" for almost a year. I never seem to get pregnant easily, but eventually I do without outside help. Anyway, I was getting fed up with all the not pregnant tests and finally called my OB nurse who told me to come in on day 1 of my next period for some tests. I told her I would be calling that Friday since I knew I ovulated exactly 2 weeks before and like clockwork I knew that Friday would be day one.

Well that Friday came and went with no "friend". DH and I were thinking about it all night long but I didn't have any tests left. In the a.m. I got up really early and thought I better save my urine, so in a cup I went and when DH finally went to the store I was barely in the bathroom when he was right behind me asking "well?".

I said "you do it", he said "how" and I gave directions from the bedroom. So there he is in the bathroom with my cup and a stick. He came out reading the directions and was very nervous to tell me it may be a no. He walked back in the bathroom in less than 60 seconds and came out and pretended to read the directions and finally said "we've got 2 lines".

I immediately started crying and so did he. So he actually told me we were pregnant.

Just a quickie since I am using the computer at my hospital and it's only giving me limited access to different websites.

Cohen Blake arrived yesterday, June 18, 2008. He was 9 lbs 2 oz and 19 and 3/4" long (and yes, he was 9 days early!) He looks just like his daddy and we love him so much already...so does his big sister who is absolutely crazy about him!

Anyway, I have a link to the hospital's pictures of him but I can't get them to pull up for some reason. I will post pics and share more information after I get home this weekend. My c-section went really well and I am doing even better than I had expected and have been pleasantly surprised at how little pain I am actually in.

Nursing has been a bit frustrating as Cohen has had trouble getting the latching thing down but we are making progress and I do think it will work out eventually. I just love him! Talk to you more after I get home!

Cohen Blake arrived yesterday, June 18, 2008. He was 9 lbs 2 oz and 19 and 3/4" long (and yes, he was 9 days early!) He looks just like his daddy and we love him so much already...so does his big sister who is absolutely crazy about him!

Going through infertility crap, he watched me POAS (pretty much literally), and was of course there for the beta and initial ultrasound. Not that romantic


In other related news, as we were getting wheeled out of the hospital yesterday our last turn before the exit was past the Outpatient center where we waited and the girls had their first beginning. I held myself together all day and lost it there, passing the room where we were so nervous, so excited, so unsure that we would "get them", and there we were beginning again --- with them in our arms!

Thanks! BTW, I have a random question. Which stroller(s) did you guys go with. We're starting the hunt now and I don't know if I should go with one that holds two infant seats, but then converts to regular seats OR get the double snap and go, and then later buy one they can sit in.

For example, I really like the Kolcraft Countours one, but there's other side by side ones that I like better. However, they don't take infant seats. Ugh, very confusing.
