New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Hi all! Welcome to all the new mommies to be that have joined our thread! I wish our list would hurry up and resurface. It seems to be taking a long time to archive our old thread. Oh, well, I just need to learn how to be patient. I like seeing everyone's due dates and what they are having though and of course I like to see where I am at on the list as well.

Denise~ I had the opposite problem. My period had not shown back up at all and my dd was nearly 4 months old and I was not breastfeeding with her so I had expected it to show up by then. I had to go on BCP just to get it to start back up and then it was every 28 days on the dot. Good luck! 12 days of bleeding sounds so frustrating!

As for me, I think dh and I have a boy's name narrowed down to 2 choices. It has been sooo hard and frustrating agreeing on names for a boy this time around. One of the reasons I was sure we are having a boy is because we had a girl's name picked out from the get-go and no boy's name. I knew we couldn't possibly get off that easy. Anyway, dh's 1st choice was Dalton but I vetoed it. My first choice was Elijah but he vetoed it. He also liked Braxton but I said no. (My dd's favorite was Braxton by the way but I vetoed her as well, lol!)

To make a long, hard, frustrating journey shorter (for you to read about, that is) we have finally decided it will either be Cohen (or Cowan, not sure on the spelling yet...but it's pronounced like Co-en) or Preston. Dh likes Cohen best but I worry it's too close to Kylie's name as far as the sounds go. And then I worry Preston is starting to get popular and trendy (is now on the top 100 list and I saw a little boy being called Preston the other night) so those are 2 issues we are having. I have liked both names since high school but didn't have either issue to consider back then.

Anyway, keeping in mind that I am 22.5 weeks pregnant and hormonal (not to mention beyond stressed from school), what do you think? We know it will definitely be one of those names because we've gone through 3-4 baby books, websites galore, etc., and those are the ONLY 2 names we can agree on. I actually like quite a few other names but dh doesn't so there you go. Anyway...Which one do you like better and why? Thanks, ladies! :)

I haven't been able to really read your post much yet so I can't comment on the boy names until I can get home and read them. I sympathize though.... I gave myself a headache (literally!) yesterday trying to sort out my feelings on some girl names we have, and - more difficulty for me anyway than I anticipated - their relationship to one another. Sheesh!

Anyway, I just wanted to give your patience a little boost... :) I have been posting with WM Kathy and kind of told her we were wondering what was going on ;) .... and while our thread is still not there yet, about 12 new threads showed up on the CB sticky. That is the first change in about 3 weeks, so I'm hoping they are back onto their project. Hang in there! ;)

I'm taking a break from the endless piles of laundry to post some pics of little Bodie. His face is still a bit cut and bruised from the delivery but I'm hoping he'll be all healed soon.

Bodie is just precious!

Helene, welcome!

Tasha+Scott, Preston was on our list too. In fact, we had pretty much decided on it and then DH started to say he would rather name him Spencer (that was our second choice). So, Spencer it is. I really like both the names you picked out, but I would worry about Preston being so popular. You don't hear Cowan very much, so I would probably lean that way.

Well, I had yet another appointment today for my NST. He refused to move, so I ended up at the hospital for an ultrasound. I was hoping they would go ahead and induce, but everything checked out (which I am SO thankful for) so I am now back home. I have another appontment scheduled for Friday, but I am hoping he decides to come before that. He's measuring 8lbs 8 oz, so I am preparing for a big baby. :guilty: I am tired and frustrated and the longer this goes on, the more scared I get.

Bodie is adorable!!!

You guys are scaring me about periods after birth :scared: I'm torn on when to go back on BCP because of my higher risk of ovarian cancer. Is it ok to nurse and be on BCP?

So a little update on me. I see the Dr. tomorrow. But the past three days I have been so tired and my contractions have been coming in swarms but still don't hurt. I think I lost some of my plug (has a big glob of yellowish brownish goo...TMI sorry) I'm ready for him to be here but I don't want his b-day to be leap day :upsidedow

my first period after my son was nothing short of awful :( I also had trouble with hemmoraging after giving birth with him. My periods after my girls were pretty normal.

Thank you all for the welcome! I still can't believe I'm gonna have 4 kids

Bodie is TOO cute!

And maybe that first period really wasn't a period...know what I mean? I mean it was light and I used about 3 pads over 5 days...no kidding! This one is NUTS! I'm hoping it straightens itself out soon! Heaven help me! :scared: :crazy2:  I've gone through about 4 pads today!! :scared:

Tasha - I really like both names but I am partial to Preston. I have a good friend whose DS15 is named Preston and he is a great kid so it makes the name have positive vibes for me. There are some names that remind me of kids I know and I just cringe!

May I join in?

I'm Kathy and I am married to Jeff. We have one beautiful girl thanks to Clomid and her name is Katie. We've been trying for a sibling for Katie since she was one and as she is going to be six this coming June, it's been a while. This time Clomid gave me nothing but a miscarriage and so after moving on to IUI's which also did nothing, we took out the big guns and went for IVF. The first cycle was a bust, but this cycle we discovered was a success! So I guess we are FINALLY pregnant with baby number two.

I am about 6 weeks along at this point and I believe my due date will be around October 18th. I am still with the Fertility Clinic until my second ultrasound on March 10th, where hopefully they will see a heartbeat and release me to my OB/GYN. I had my first ultrasound last week and there was only one baby in there but it was too early for a heartbeat.

I am still super nervous that something is going to go wrong at any minute, but trying to hang in there and not be a worry wart. :) So far though, minus a bit of light spotting which they assure me is common in IVF pregnancies, everything has been going well! They've done five beta tests and they have all doubled nicely. Thank goodness they stopped that at this point though because worrying every other day was stressing me out! :)

Anyway, Hi! :)

I can't resist! This was Mo at the park today!

And this was Mo after his bath today. His hands and feet were so cold so I put on his mitts and socks! As soon as I went to take the picture he threw up his hands as if to say....DON'T SHOOT MOMMY!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: Shoot...play on words there! :rotfl:

i went 3 years without a period once i got pregnant with dd3. which my doctor told me was normal because of breastfeeding. i had just gotten it back 2 months before i found out i was pregnant this time, but when i got it back it was alot more painful than before i had kids

Bodie is such a cutie pie! Congrats again. :)

Denise- LOVE it! How cute. :) I'm am cherishing Grayson being so tiny, yet can't wait til we can really interact with him like that. For now, we'll just have to enjoy those impromtu smiles. I love that Boppy cover too- it matches some of our other baby things. Do you know what that pattern is called?

Welcome to all the new mommies!!!

I can't even remember when I got my period back after the first two, so I'm assuming it couldn't have been too traumatic. However, after DS (Baby #2), they changed in the fact that I always had pregnancy symptoms right before I got it- like nausea and sore bb's. I remember feeling "PMS" for the last 2 weeks or so in May before I finally took a pregnancy test. It was never like that before, but then was for 8 years. I'm assuming it will still be that way when I get it back.

OMG! He is way too cute for words.

Welcome Shmoogrrrl! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. :wizard: I am sure it will all be fine.

I don't remember having any trouble with periods after my first 3 boys. Although, mine have always been very light to start with. I generally didn't get them at all while I was nursing. So, there is hope for everyone. ;)

No new updates here. I am still waiting on the results of my NS. They said they should be ready tomorrow.

I vote Preston too, but if you choose Cohen which is also nice, I would stay away from the spelling with the "w". It's looks like Cow and kids can be mean.

Anyway, Hi! :)

Welcome! I too was told not to worry about spotting (but thankfully the clinic would squeeze in u/s with the first time or two to comfort me! :)). I am now 21 weeks with twins from an IVF cycle.... so try not to get too worried! I totally sympathize though... I think that once we go through infertility treatment and get a miracle pregnancy, many of us always think the other shoe is going to drop, so to speak. Try and think positive! :teeth:

Here ya go! I got it from Target. It's called Boppy Safari Slipcover! Cost me $9.99 too! :)

Do cherish those moments with Grayson, you being a mommy already know how fast they grow up. That picture in the park was perfect! I was talking to him and caught that smile right at that moment! :cloud9:

That is so true! I've watched like 14 babies being born around me among my friends since we started try for number two and to be honest, I was starting to think that it wasn't meant to happen. Now that it has, I am nervous and paranoid and maybe still a little bit in denial about the whole thing. So far so good at least!

I am currently taking BCP (calmaria - I think that is the name), my doctor gave them to me and they are an extremely low dose. After I stop breastfeeding I have another prescription for Ortho-Tri to start.

Hope this helps!

I just want to share that I haven't a single paycheck since I returned to work!!!!! That's been nearly 2 months on the 9th of March. I don't work as much so all I'm doing is working to pay insurance which I just cannot catch up! I just sent another $100 check!! I should send it all for medical and let them catch dental up from my paycheck. It's not as much! Good thing I'm a server huh?? It's VERY frustrating because I was using paychecks to fund our ING account and I'll NEVER be able to do that at this rate. Can't wait for the money Bush is working for us. What is it....$500 per adult and $300 per child. So $1300 for hubby, Mo, and I. I'll take ALL of that and put into our ING accounts.
