New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

How are you doing Lisa? You okay?

I know I had a hard time hearing my 3rd was a boy when I wanted a girl.

Woo Hoo--Team Blue!!! Congrats Lisa!!

Thanks.

Team Pink has a dismal showing. I wonder which I'll belong to?

We need some more pink up there.

How are you doing Lisa? You okay?

Pretty bad, which makes me feel even worse. I cried for an hour and a half. Partly because it wasn't a girl, partly because I felt bad for crying. I had such a strong feeling that it was a girl. Even when they did the ultrasound, it didn't look like a boy to me. With the other two, it was like...BAM! Here's my *****. This time it didn't look like that.

I go for my 20 week ultrasound the day after we get back. Hopefully they'll give me a clear picture so that I can finally accept it.

I feel so bad for being upset, but this is our last baby and I really wanted a girl.:sad1:

I'm so sorry, Lisa. Don't feel bad about feeling bad! You know in your heart that you'll love him SO much, but right now, it's okay to mourn a little when you thought for sure it would be a girl.

Lisa, go back to when I first found out (page 42) and I was in the same place you are right now. I cried for days for the same reason. I wanted a girl so bad and and I felt so guilty for crying because he was healthy and that should have been enough.

It will get better, I can promise that. But there will be times too when you still wish he was a girl. I still feel that way sometimes, so be glad you found out now so you can take the time to accept what you have been given. Maybe if you waited you might not have handled it? Who knows? But I really do understand what you are feeling. Go ahead and cry. Hugs to you.

'barging in'

Lisa, don't feel badly for feeling badly. I think what you are experiencing is pretty normal. I had a girl first and wanted the second to be a boy. I knew I would be done at 2, and I thought DH really wanted a boy, and would want to try for #3 if #2 was another girl.

I didn't find out in advance, and when #2 was born and it was another girl, I was shocked and a little sad. I felt terribly guilty for feeling that way, but I that is how I felt.

Now I wonder why I ever felt that way. Having two girls is great. And we never went on to try for #3.

It will all be o.k.

Thanks guys!:grouphug: You'd think I'd be happy we're leaving for Disney in 2 days.

Anyone ever had an ultrasound be wrong?

Well, I haven't had one be wrong, of course. :rotfl: But I've read many a story by a DISer who did have one that was wrong!

But don't get your hopes up. I'm sorry it's not a girl, but you're not the first to be disappointed in the sex, so don't feel bad. I think since this one's our first, DH and I don't really have a preference for boy or girl. Apparently, though, a lot of people have asked me if I care! Am I supposed to? :confused3

I asked the doctor to check again when they told me Emily was a girl. I thought they might have been wrong since things are sometimes swollen in girls at birth.

She is a very tomboy kind of girl, though.

None wrong, but even as of last week when I had the U/S to measure the baby, I was still hoping he was a she. Don't you know as soon as the tech put the scanner on my belly there he was in all his glory. He even showed us it works too.

My 16W and 21W ultrasounds showed baby B as a "probable" girl, but then at 23W, it turned out, nope, he is unquestionably a boy.

I understand that grief that you're feeling though. I was going to be happy either way, but after having a month of preparing for a girl/boy set, I was really upset with the two boy combo. Of course, now I'm really happy, but it was hard, esp. for the first few days.

I'm not kidding, he showed us it works! You could see the "floaties" of him urinating. So weird, and kinda gross.

Here is my pirate and princess.

Ok, it's my turn to jump on the new version of this thread.. It wasn't all that long ago that I was on the old one.

I have 2 DS's, one will be 7 in 10 days and the other is 19 months.

I just had a feeling I was pregnant and got a test on the way home from work!! According to webmd my date would be 5/9/09.

Oh boy...well actually hopefully girl ;)
