I didnt get checked at all w/ my first... i was afraid they would start the ball rolling and I was scared to death of having my first baby! She ended up over a week late!
The second, I was like ...mmm, can you check me and speed things up a little?

That's so funny! I was checked with my first. My doc said not to count on the baby coming anytime "soon" after that appointment, and I had my DD less than 48 hours later! :lmao: The human body is an amazing thing.

TrueEeyore- you're not at the bottom any more!!!

We went to the specialist yesterday- I am being followed because of my 2 prior miscarriages and the fact that I am on a baby asprin. I am 12 weeks now (as of yesterday) and ended up with another ultrasound yesterday. I was a bit surprised, but it was nice to see that everything is going well! and the baby looks so different now- our first ultrasound was at 7 weeks and it just looked like a blob. It is very exciting and the doctor is "very happy." I am hoping that I am out of the woods... He ordered another ultrasound for 3 weeks and then another 3 weeks after that for our anatomy screening.

Does this sound like a lot of ultrasounds? I don't think I am considered "high risk" since I am treated by 2 midwives and just co-treated by this specialist...
who knows. any thoughts?

I had an u/s every two weeks with my last pregnancy. Enjoy them, but remember...there will be NO surprises!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I was just about to say that! :woohoo: I like being a little higher up! :thumbsup2

It doesn't really sound like alot of ultrasounds. It depends on the doctor. You should be happy you get to see your baby all those times! :lovestruc

I had an U/S at 5 weeks, 4 days because I was having some pains and she wanted to make sure it wasn't ectopic. Then I had another one two weeks later to make sure we had a heartbeat- we did! Now I can't wait for the next ultrasound! I don't know when it will be though.

Congrats on everything going well.

Now, I go in tomorrow for the induction. I need to have this baby, tomorrow!!!! Keep the good thoughts coming.

Best of luck to you!!

Mind if I join you gals?
I am newly pregnant w/ baby # 3! Due date (according to one of those online calculator's) is April 28th.
I have a 9yr.old daughter & 4 yr. old boy.
My first OB appt. is Sept. 9th, I am hoping they will do an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy is viable as I have had several miscarriages. For now I am cautiously optimistic!

Welcome Elisabeth and best of luck to you too!

I have been a lurker here, my daughter just delivered a baby girl on Wednesday, Rory and this thread has been very helpful with worries that she had, I was able to answer due to all of your expertise, thank you. It has been 24 years since I had a baby, so the new things helped alot and thank you all for that. Has anyone heard from Amber, honeymooner, can't remember the rest? I just hope all is well with her and Ava. Thank you again ladies.

Just wanted to quickly check in and say hi to everyone! WELCOME to the new posters!!!

Lisa, Have a great trip!

You sound alot like me...2 prior misses, I take 81 mg aspirin everyday and I see a specialist (due to a hyperactive thyroid). I am glad everything went well. I have another u/s next week (12th week) and then again at the end of the month for the amnio. Not sure how often I will go after that.

I have been a lurker here, my daughter just delivered a baby girl on Wednesday,

Congratulations!

Have a great day everyone and a happy and safe holiday weekend!

I got one ultrasound at 11 weeks and am getting another at about 20, and I'm not high risk. But doctors like to do things differently, and I've never been pregnant before.

Disneymooner? I don't think I've seen her post lately. I hope no news from her is good news. I hope she continues to do well. :)

Anybody interested in a web site where you can get Disney merchandise, furniture and memorablia, from the resorts? It's located in Haines City and I went the other day, it is awesome!!! Let me know!

Well, no baby yet :sad2: . My induction was bumped until Tuesday. Evidently, this week was hopping and unless I found a stable and some hay, there was just no room at the inn. So, unless nature takes its course, Tuesday is the next plan. I had to let go of the frustration (NOT easy :headache: ) and decide that the Universe must have another plan. She will come exactly when she is supposed to.

Hey ladies! Count me in!

My name is Lauren and we just found out last week that we are expecting again. Our due date (so far) is May 6, 2009. This is baby #3 for us (we have a 2-1/2 you DD and one angel that we lost back in Feb).

Can't wait to start reading through all these posts!!

Well, what do you know....induction is scheduled for this morning and my contractions are about 4 min. apart. Dropping the boys at school and then off to the hospital.

Good luck Amie! I'll be thinking of you today.

My doc hopes to induce me on the 10th (1 week early)!!!!
