No, Disney won’t automatically apply a discount. Chances are if you’re not seeing availability or a discount online for a new reservation, one isn’t available to modify your current reservation either.

Applied this yesterday to our standard view room at the Wilderness Lodge. Saved just over $600. Not as good as I was expecting, was hoping for 30%, but still a nice change over the previous ticket offer!

It doesn’t look as if there is much inventory available in July when I do a search. Any speculation as to more availability should Disney raise capacity? I’d really like to change out June trip to July!

AFAIK, they're not restricting capacity at the resorts so I would guess that they're all just booked. I don't expect more inventory to open.

I thought the entire resort was at 35%? We were there 2 weeks ago (SS) and our resort was sparsely filled yet when I tried to change my room to a larger one prior to arrival, there was no availability.

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the parks have had a 35% capacity, not the resorts.

Theme parks are at 35% capacity per the last time Disney commented on the topic, but Disney has not said anything about resort occupancy limits. I personally think they'd sell every hotel room if demand was there. And they definitely aren't capping occupancy at the DVC resorts like SS given the ownership structure of timeshares.

To me, any sparsely filled resorts are due to lack of demand during this mid April through roughly mid May lull between seasons, and while demand is certainly growing as indicated by bookings in the summer through fall, it hasn't quite been to a point yet with the return to travel where they are consistently selling out resorts.
