Just wondering how long others have waited to buy a new membership at BCV through Disney. Thanks! ::MinnieMo

I purchased a second ownership at Disney's BC sometime back in 2001/2002. I guess I was under the impression that the BC had sold out! Maybe I'm wrong??? It seems like for the past few years I've only seen ownership offers for SSR.

Good Luck!

the only resort that disney is really selling is ssr, all the other resorts are sold out. unless disney buys back a contract from a sold out resort, then disney will turn around a resell that contract. i believe there are waitlists for sold out resort, call your guide and have them put you on a waitlist for the resort you are interested in buying. i have heard of members calling and getting something right away and i heard it sometimes takes, months, years.

We just bought our membership at BCV this year from Disney and we wait just over a month for it. But we didn't care what use year we received, if you want a certain use year it may take longer. There is a waitlist thread on this board you may want to check out.

It all comes down to your use year. Some are available much quicker than others.

We just received our BCV add-on of 100 points, June use year. We went on the waitlist Feb. 8, 2005, and got a call that the points came through May 24, so it took about 3.5 months. I know from the Add-On thread, that waitlist times vary from several days to people who have been waiting since last summer. It all depends on the use year and the number of points you want, and what comes up in inventory. We would have taken another use year, but I was told by my guide that when you purchase an add-on through Disney that they will give you the same use year as your other contract(s). I don't know if that's true, but either way it didn't matter to us. For us, going through Disney was the best way to go, because there are no stipped contracts, no closing costs, no waiting to pass ROFR. I know others prefer to use a broker to purchase on the resale market and that works well for them. So, to buy BCV you can go either way.
