New member questions

I left for WDW expecting just to tour DVC (I knew that at some point I was going to join - it was just a matter of timing), and I left with quite a few BWV points (I'm a teacher, so I need to make sure that I have enough points to travel during peak travel times). To say I'm excited is an understatement.

Anyhow, I remember asking my guide this question, and for the life of me I can't remember his answer. We signed on Thursday, and he said that paperwork should be FedExed to us by Monday (tomorrow). How long after we receive the paperwork can we make our first reservations? We were lucky enough to get an April UY, so we have all points available to us now. I want to book for New Year's Eve, so I want to book ASAP (as of Thursday, there was availability, so I want to book quickly). In other words, if I receive the paperwork on Monday, can I make the reservations on Monday also, or do I have to wait? Thanks!!

If you have already given your deposit, you should be in the system and can make a reservation tomorrow morning when MS opens.

Monday mornings are always busy for MS, so don't be surprised with a busy signal or waiting on hold. I'd suggest waiting until afternoon to call to make that reservation.

We must be on the same wavelength - new DVC'er - just bought BWV on Thursday as well and expect the paperwork on Monday! Welcome Home! Yes, I believe my guide told me on Friday I could actually call MS then, but I haven't decided on my first trip home - I'd love to go a few days over Xmas break, but was wondering about availability myself. I think the time for DVC chat on Sunday nites is 8:00pm - if there is no one there at 8 try 9:00pm - (For years, chat always started at 9pm, but is being moved to the earlier time.)

Congrats... OT but did you buy new BWV or resale?

I bought directly from Disney. I need a lot of points, and Disney had it available right away - I didn't want to run the risk of TSS not having the number of points I needed right away. The process went very smoothly, and I was very pleased.
