New Magic Locations Question...

To any 10/11 Magic Cruisers - Welcome Back! As we wait with baited breath for all the trip reports to flow in, I have a question about the Cove Cafe. What was the room like - "Starbucks" type feel to it, or more like a bar? Personally, I'm hoping for a traditional coffee house feel - as it makes a nice alternative or change of venue... Pics look great, by the way... Also, were there any noticeable changes to cabins?

It was nice. The location was odd: Right next to the swimming pool, yet no swimwear was allowed. I went in their once to order a coke. She told me I couldn't have a complimentary pastry unless I ordered alcohol. Oh, well. It was the best looking place to do the internet that I saw on the ship, but that didn't interest me.

I'd say it's THE place to be if you like alcohol and the internet...or maybe surfing the internet to learn about alcohol.

If you prefer Coca-cola and a wet swimming suit, stay outside.

Do they do coffees and such, too? That was the impression I had. So what if I order an Irish coffee, while standing in my wet bathing suit and a shirt??? LOL..

Have you cruised before on the Magic? IF so, were there noticeable changes with the cabins (i.e. equipment, mattresses, etc.)...??

Nope. My first time. I'm almost sure they had coffee and stuff, but I really was in and out in less than five minutes.

It was kind of small, and I preferred being out on the deck. I think their intent was Starbuck's, but the execution was more doctor's waiting room with beverages and a great view. They even had a magazine rack. It'd be a fun hangout if you had a few friends. Surprisingly peaceful.

Yes, they had all kinds of coffee and coffee with alcohol drinks. We went there one night after dinner for an after dinner drink (YUMMY Mudslides! ) and to watch a few innings of the baseball game. It is a very comfortable place.
I agree about using the internet here. Much nicer then the Internet Cafe.
