I am so excited!! I traded in my old lenses today, and got the Tamron 18-270mm for my Nikon. I can't wait to start using it! I think it's really going to help me out (maybe I can get somewhat better pictures for Fantasmic). Eventually I want to get the Sigma 105-500, but that won't be for awhile

Congratulations, I know how you feel. Yesterday I bought the Nikon 35mm 1.8 lens and a ND filter. I can't wait till Oct when I can try the lens out on the dark rides and the filter for fireworks.

The 35 1.8 lens is very nice. I picked that up a few months ago. I have a variable ND filter arriving Monday.

I just picked up a 135mm/2.8 prime. Used for $260. Amazingly sharp, such a narrow DoF. Wonderful new toy. Almost makes up for breaking my Tamron 17-50.

I got to try it out a couple of nights ago at Fantasmic, and I was very happy with how the pictures came out. Now I may need to look at prime lenses (in case I want to get more serious on shooting dark rides)

Congrats...I just got the Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 last week. Still undecided how I feel about it.

But I do own the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G and I love it. I actually took 90% of my sons indoor volleyball games with it and got some great pics!

Please let us know how the 18-270 works for you. I was ready to buy one myself, but found that (a) I often needed wider than 18 for most of my shots and (b) I seldom shot anything requiring 200.

I've only used it a few times so far, but I've found it works perfectly for me. I enjoy shooting the shows at Disney, and this means I don't have to sit as close as I used to (I tested it at Fantasmic, and it was great).
