New iPhones

Hopefully this time around there shouldn't be any shipping issues. I read they expect to ship 10 million by the end of the month and another 70 million by the end of the year.

I posted this in another thread, I will ask the same question here:

Please help me out here, I am a little confused about these watch things. If I have a PHONE that doubles as a TV, a VOICE RECORDER, a MUSIC player, an EMAIL device, a CAMERA/VIDEO RECORDER, an INTERNET BROWSER, a device for PAYING CHARGES at a shopping establishment, has the option of running many useful APPS like running devices in my home remotely and finally is a WATCH/CLOCK/TIMER, why would I need a WATCH with a smaller screen than my phone? Besides, how many people will not be able to read the screen without stopping to put their reading glasses on? Oh yeah, and for HOW MUCH? And don't get me started on those glasses things!

BTW, I think that cellphones are named incorrectly, since many owners don't use them to make phone calls and should be renamed as:

Cellular and High Speed Data Capable Multi-Purpose Electronic Handheld Mobile Communications, Entertainment and Gaming Device

The good ole CHSDCMPEHMCEGD! And if you are an Apple Fanboy make that an iCHSDCMPEHMCEGD!

Here's the dark side of the iWatch:

...
But the device has two obvious flaws that people aren't really saying much about.

1. The watch works only if you're carrying an iPhone at the same time. It isn't an independent gadget. It needs to be tethered to a nearby iPhone via Bluetooth if you want it to do its stuff.

2. The watch's battery doesn't last all day. It must be charged anew each night, Apple says. That means you can't sleep with it on your wrist, like, you know, a normal watch. Even Apple is unhappy with it, we hear.

As an android user....... We've had this for 2 years now and at 1/2 the cost

Android Forums are having lots of fun with iPhone 6...

People seem to love either the iPhone or Android... why is it impossible to admire - at least - both?

And what about Windows phones? I'm actually quite fond of the Metro interface when on a portable medium.

Wait...

I just got the LG G2, which is not even their newest model (the G3 just came out).

It's got a 5.2" screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution. 423ppi.

13 megapixel camera and a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera.

So, why would I want an iPhone 6? More built-in storage? :confused3

If I want a watch, I can get the pebble for less than half price.

I love love love my Iphone! But I liked my Droid X quite a bit too, and I admire my sons Galaxy 4 as well. But I have been using Itunes forever, and I am on my 3rd Ipad, so the Iphone is a logical fit for me.

It really depends on the individual and what they want from a phone. Some choose the iphone because they are already locked into the ecosystem. Some choose it because of the quality or the ease of use. Some really like the look and feel of the phone. Some like the support apple gives, etc.

A pity when it comes to Android is that many users don't run the latest version of the Android operating system...

This opens Android to digital attack, which in 2013 was a very serious problem.

I don't understand all the android vs iphone bs. Buy what you like to use...What difference does it make...

With that said, can anyone tell me if the optical image stabilization is really worth an extra $100 dollars and the much larger size of the phone?

It really depends on your needs. Do you use your camera alot where the optical image stabilization will be a huge need? Do you also want a large phone?

I do use my phone for pictures a lot. I don't know if I'm gonna like the size of the phone on a 6 Plus even though I'm leaning that way. I've always stayed with apples because I like the small size of the phone and well I'm just too cheap to rebuy a million apps, etc.

I really thought I would want the larger phone because these old eyes aren't getting any better, but I also have short, fat arthritic hands, so I am afraid it will be too hard for me to hold. I was all ready to upgrade, now I am not so sure.

Print this page out. Its a size comparison chart. Make sure to print it in landscape mode. Its pretty accurate to what the size will be.

Thank you so much, that was a big help. I do like the 6 plus. It had a nice feel in my hands. I use an ipad mini most of the day and it was smaller than that, but bigger than the iphone 4 I am using now. I don't carry my phone around with me in my hands most days, so I think that makes a big difference. It will always be in a crossbody case unless I have it out to use or charge.

Well I went and looked at the iphone 5s and the note 3 so I could see the last version of each. I have a 4s. I am done with apple for now and am getting a note4. I didn't see anything in that presentation other then size that made me think it was so much better then my 4s. I wanted to be wowed or at least for there to be sapphire glass. The phone can be gorgeous. I'm still going to bubble wrap it because iphones break so easy.
